Parking is in the back. The street behind the Flatbush Av. I didn't know & paid for street parking. $3 but free is always the best. Next time. Nice. Clean. 24 Hours except I might not park there at night. Little sketchy.

Last night I visited Clean Rite for the first time after hearing positive reviews from my neighbors. I went around 10 pm to utilize the current promotion of half off machines between 10 pm and 6 am. The pricing during this promotion was incredible. Honestly the pricing even without the promotion was very fair.
When I arrived I was impressed by the spaciousness, availability and affordability of machines and supplies, and the ease of getting and reloading the card. I appreciated that there was no charge for the cards.
I was immediately perturbed by the employee's overall attitude and customer service. She was unhelpful and I felt as though I was disturbing her even though there weren't any other customers around. As I started my laundry I noticed more and more issues that should have been being addressed. There were loose left behind laundry in multiple machines. There were carts everywhere and trash thrown about. When I went to look at the laundry bags available I turned around and bumped into a cart because they were everywhere. I almost felt like I was going through a maze trying to avoid them.
I understand that it can be hectic, but honestly there weren't that many customers. I definitely believe in giving employees a break and don't agree with "If you have time to sit, you have time to clean" line—they're only human. But I was there for 2.5 hours and at no point did I see the employee clean anything. She stayed on her phone the entire time and chatted with another girl that I'm unsure if she was just a friend or another employee. While I believe in allowing employees to rest, I also feel like there should be some effort to keep the space clean to a reasonable degree. After all, we are there to get our clothes clean.
This feeling was reinforced as I was folding my laundry. On multiple items of clothing there were strange streaks and stains that were not there before. Some of my items had been bleached. There were all kinds of lint and hair stuck on my clothes that were a very different texture from my own hair. My clothes might have smelled good, but a lot of them no longer looked good. I had to outright throw away two of my shirts.
I believe that the damage to my clothes came from poor cleaning practices by the employee. At other laundromats I see the attendants cleaning the floors and machines almost constantly while I'm there. At those laundromats I never have trouble with damaged clothes.
At the end of my time there I noticed there had been a shift change. The poor guy who came in after was left with a huge mess to clean up. While there had been a rush at one point while I was there, the mess was not proportional to the number of customers there.
I would like to give Clean Rite another chance, but I'm nervous about whether their employees take their jobs seriously. I don't want to feel like I have to be worried about who's working to ensure my clothes don't get damaged and I'm not walking through trash or running until carts. I hope that Clean Rite addresses the issue of cleanliness of their establishment at *all* hours of operation.
