**Friendly Salesperson, but Poor Installation and Frustrating Customer Service**
I purchased a Maytag top-load washer from Lowe’s. The salesperson was as nice as could be. She helped me choose an installation date, and everything seemed like a done deal—or so I thought.
When the delivery truck arrived, two workers delivered and installed the washer. After they left, my father and I went downstairs to check out the new unit. When he turned on the water supply, we discovered that the cold-water intake connection had not been tightened at all. We had to tighten it ourselves.
That evening, I was eager to wash my first load. After the cycle finished, I went downstairs and found a puddle of water underneath the washer and across my basement floor.
A couple of days later, I called my local Lowe’s to report the problem. They gave me a customer-service number to call. An automated operator transferred me through two or three different departments. The last representative said she was transferring me to the delivery department, but instead, I was sent all the way back to the beginning of the automated call.
I called a second time and went through almost the exact same process. If the system was designed to frustrate customers until they gave up, it was succeeding.
I then called my local Lowe’s again and asked to speak with a supervisor in Appliances. She gave me a direct number, and I scheduled someone to inspect the problem.
I was at work when the technician arrived, but my father was there. According to my father, he was told that the washer’s drain hose was not pushing the water into the drainpipe properly, causing the water to back up onto the floor.
Before the new washer was installed, the drain hose from my old washer had been secured tightly to that pipe without this problem. The new washer’s drain hose is now not secured the same way. The technician told my father that we would need to hire a plumber because Lowe’s could not help us.
I understand that certain plumbing problems may fall outside Lowe’s responsibility. However, I paid for installation because I expected the washer to be connected correctly and safely. Between the completely loose cold-water intake, the water flooding my basement floor, the endless customer-service transfers, and being told to hire someone else after paying for installation, this experience has been unacceptable.
Next time I purchase an appliance, I will handle the delivery myself and hire a licensed professional to install it rather than paying Lowe’s for a half-done job. I will pay this washer off as quickly as possible and will not be doing business with Lowe’s again.

Place is a joke... havnt seen my delivery still. Well past the time its supposed to be delivered. I am currently on hold, I have been on hold for 40mins. That seems too long??? Also, your new AI system needs WORK. Its a joke. Its not rocket science lowes. I drove for your company for 3 years. The schedualing is awful, the delivery set it is garbage. You have no business doing deliveries let alone same day deliveries. Your robbing hard working Americans of there money charging them delivery fees that and then not keeping your word to a schedule. People miss work waiting just for nothing to show up. 2 boos!
