I want to be clear in posting this review- I am not a customer of Extra Space Storage.
I have never been a customer of Extra Space Storage.
I called one afternoon just to get a price quote on a storage unit because I was looking to store some belongings on a short term basis.
When I called the location on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, I got routed to a call center where the representative that I spoke to answered my questions about the units available and pricing.
Within an hour of that outbound phone call to the storage facility, I received an unsolicited INCOMING phone call from the actual rental space on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst.
I explained to the representative calling me that my questions were previously answered, and I was just calling to inquire about availability and pricing on a storage unit.
I then asked them to remove my number because I had never granted permission to have solicitation phone calls extended to me in regards to my outreach regarding rental unit pricing at their location.
Apparently, this location is utilizing incoming phone call data and using it to publicly solicit/“drum up” business on an outgoing call basis.
I requested that my number immediately be removed from there prompter and no further outreach calls be made to me regarding rental at their site.
HUGE TURN OFF!!!!!!!

I had an excellent experience at Extra Space Storage in Buffalo, NY and it was all thanks to Angela!
From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. She took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. It’s rare to come across someone who truly goes the extra mile, but Angela absolutely does.
She made what could have been a complicated or overwhelming situation feel easy and organized. Her customer service was outstanding, and you can tell she truly cares about the people she helps.
Highly recommend this location and if you get the chance to work with Angela, you’re in great hands!

Worst storage place around. They advertise and seem cheap only because they add $15+ worth of Insurance and fees when you sign up. When I left I forgot to take my lock off. And as usual the assistant "manager" was on lunch at 3Pm. So when i went back to take my lock off they had already double locked it so i could not remove mine. And again, no manager around as they were away on lunch. So after i move away they send not just one months worth of rent to collections, but charged me fees on fees to the tune of over $300. I called to dispute it and they said tough. Never using again.
Not to mention that the ONLY reason they have a 5 star review here, is they tell everyone they'll throw in a free lock if you give them a 5 star right in front of them.
