I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received today.
I went to purchase a front door knob set that was listed online for $45.88, but when I scanned it at the register, it rang up for over $61. I pressed the “Get Help” button, and Angela came over to assist me. When I explained the price difference and asked if she could honor the online price, she immediately told me that the online price was separate from the store. I then pointed out that the website gave me the option to order the item online for pickup at this exact store for the lower price, which made no sense to me. Instead of trying to help, she simply responded with, “I know, right,” as if she didn’t care about resolving the issue.
Rather than price matching the item from the beginning, she told me to place the order online and assured me that once I submitted it, it would come through the system right away and she could fulfill it immediately. I followed her instructions, only to stand there for more than 10 minutes waiting for the order to appear. When it never came through, she finally overrode the price and had me pay for the item at the register—the exact solution that could have been done from the start.
She then told me I would need to cancel the online order. When I explained that I couldn’t find any option to cancel it, she took a photo of my order number and assured me that she would take care of it herself and keep an eye on it so I wouldn’t be charged twice. An hour later, I received a notification that my order was being prepared, making it obvious that nothing had been canceled. I ended up having to go into the app and handle the situation myself.
Not only was Angela’s attitude dismissive and unhelpful throughout the entire interaction, but she also failed to follow through on what she promised. The whole experience wasted a significant amount of my time and could have been resolved in a matter of minutes if the price had simply been matched from the beginning.
I work in customer service myself, and I understand that not every situation is easy. However, being pleasant, helpful, and following through on commitments are basic expectations. This experience fell far below those standards. Lowe’s management should take a closer look at how situations like this are handled and ensure associates receive the training necessary to provide better customer service.

Came in 10 mins before closing to grab a piece of wood. Needed it cut a small amount. The worker said she would have to grab “Gavin” to do it but he was outside taking out the trash. Then says he clocked out already. Then this kid obviously high out of his mind strolls in and tells us that the machine was broken all day and he could not cut the wood and clocked out in front of us and left. These women in the back were obnoxiously annoyed at us being there and were rolling their eyes at us. Overall it was just a complete lie and just ridiculously lazy. Sorry you guys work at Lowe’s but you put yourself there 😂. Will absolutely not be coming back to this store.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped.
