  I have been a customer for over three years. When I first became a customer, a young female took me on a tour, showed me different size storage units and prices. We were given a low price for the storage unit we were offered. After the second or third payment, we received a notice stating we owe a much higher amount. That the price on our unit went up and that there is a smaller unit with a listed price of $200 and change. We stayed with the unit we had. Payments were often a few days late due to storage office not allowing us to change the due date so that it would fit with payroll date of being issued a check or direct deposit. We paid our debt by an ATM debit card. Months after renting with ExtraSpace in Old Bridge, New Jersey on 516, we began receiving strange charges just after coming into the office to make a monthly payment. We had no clue where these charges were coming from, so we had our bank do a trace. Nothing came back in their search, so we canceled the cards, each time the bank issued a new one. We went for weeks with no issues or giving the card number out. When we were due again for a monthly payment for ExtraSpace, the strange charges re-appeared. When payment was a few days late due to our payroll dates, the office would push unauthorized payments on recorded cards without gaining consent until we called or visited the local storage office to complain. When payment was going to be late we often communicated with the female, Tiffany who ran that local nearest our home. We paid all current and past due amounts on our account. Last year, in December of 2025, I was injured in a hit-n-run auto accident. The office was notified of this event and a promise was made to get the past due amount paid. I was suddenly let go from my then overnight job late December just before Christmas. I was again in touch with ExtraSpace, making them aware we needed an extension until I get money to pay the full amount due and restore my account. I was asked to just key the office in the loop. When I finally came into receiving the money owed to me, the office stated there would be an auction but we can avoid that if we pay the unit's past due amount before that date. We had agreed to a payment arrangement to pay off the debt owed but when my wife went to pay that fee, she was told by Tiffany that we would have to now pay a much higher fee and vacate the storage unit. We were told in-person and by phone that management would not allow a payment arrangement. They would not take partial payment that day and wanted the full asking amount, so my wife simply left. We received a call prior to the auction day, stating that the higher cost is what we would need to pay, which was an extra month in advance, in order to get our personal stuff, clean out and vacate. We could not come to an agreement to fix this matter and thought our years of business together would provide us that courtesy to do so. The office management would not provide that, so we surrendered ALL of our personal items to ExtraSpace and was told our unit would be auctioned off. We received a recent email from a collection company stating that ExtraSpace is NOW coming after us for a debt of over $1,000 and change. We could have paid this months ago but the managing team would not accept the payment. Understand that there had been no calls or communication from ExtraSpace at all. They even listed our address wrong with the collection company even after repeated conversations by phone stating the new address. All we wanted in the first place was paid what we owed and keep our storage. Accidents and other events happens, they for one should know that. If not for that accident, they know I would have paid them in full by now.

  Rented a unit to store my car. Sadly the lip was a little too high for my car. I walked inside and was granted by a young man. “Long hair” he was super nice and even drove me to another unit to see if it was a little lost he entire experience was so pleasant. You don’t find customer service like that anymore. I stored at public storage and this was far better. I’m sad my car won’t fit. Thank you for making my experience so good.
