BEWARE OF MOUSE INFESTED storage: I have been a customer at this Extra Space Storage location for years. I originally rented a 10x15 unit which they raised to over $500/month. A few years ago I downsized to a 10x10 — which they have since raised to $324/month. I am expected to pay top of the line storage prices while getting a facility that is actively infested with mice.
On my most recent visit I discovered a severe mouse infestation in my unit. This was clearly not a recent problem — there was an established mouse nest and droppings everywhere throughout my unit, proving this infestation had been going on for a long time, completely undetected and unaddressed by management. Mice had chewed through my pillows and blankets and contaminated everything. I use this unit exclusively for business staging items — there has never been any food stored there. Every single item now has to be thrown out. This is a direct financial loss to my business.
When I brought this to management, they refused to offer any discount or reimbursement — claiming they could not make exceptions for anyone. They suggested I simply move to another unit, as if that compensates for destroyed inventory. They also told me to go through my own insurance for damage caused entirely by their negligence and lack of basic facility maintenance.
$324 a month for a 10x10 is not a bargain price, it comes with an expectation of a clean, maintained, and pest-free facility. What I got instead was an established mouse nest, destroyed business inventory, and a recurring broken elevator that has been an issue for years.
Loyal long-term customers deserve better than this. I have photos documenting everything.
Look elsewhere, you deserve better for your money.
