The storage facility has good security, the staff is friendly, and the property is generally well maintained without feeling run down. However, I do have a couple of concerns.
First, they should let customers know before renting an upper-floor unit that there is only one elevator, as that can make moving in and out much more time-consuming.
Second, the floors are very dirty. I wouldn’t recommend placing anything directly on them unless it’s well protected.
Other than those issues, it’s a solid, affordable storage option, especially for short-term use.

I was shocked by how awful this place is. The unit I was assigned was completely full of rat shit. There is clearly a serious problem here. Needless to say, the overall facility is shockingly old and filthy. On top of that, customer service is terrible as well. I tried to get transferred to a unit at another location, but they flatly refused. Do not come here, even by mistake.

I’m a new customer at Extra Space Storage located at Sussex Ave upon my arrival here today my unit was not available. Thank to Eric he was very transparent unlike the customer service that assisted me over the phone never explained that I would have to climb on a ladder to get to my units as the units at this location are not rooms that you can walk into. Eric quickly assisted me and fully refunded I appreciated his assistance and transparency. Please check with staff at this location before booking online it will save you headaches and confusion.
