Be careful of unexpected charges!
I emptied my storage unit early because I was moving to another state. When I contacted the storage office, David refused to refund the unused portion of the prepaid monthly rent. He repeatedly claimed that he had told me about this policy “many times,” but that never happened. During my rental period, I rarely had any reason to call the office, so we never had those conversations.
He also blamed me for switching to a different unit to get a better price, even though that was his own suggestion at the time. It’s frustrating to be blamed for following a recommendation made by a staff member.
Unfortunately, David was neither friendly nor helpful during the move-out process. My experience was very disappointing, so I recommend asking detailed questions about move-out policies and possible charges before renting.
Update:
After the company responded to my review, I called the phone number they provided. The lady I spoke with told me she would talk to David and that I would receive a prorated refund on my move-out receipt by the end of the day. About an hour later, I received the email, but there was no refund.
I called back, but the lady never answered the phone. Instead, David answered and told me once again that there would be no prorated refund.
This was extremely frustrating because I was given conflicting information and false hope. Customers deserve honest, consistent communication. The company should hire better employees and improve its management!
