  Let's start with the good that allows a single star review, even though it should be zero. Clean and well maintained property due to on site staff. Mostly secure. There were a couple times when the gate was open upon arrival and the second gate had been out of service for quite some time. The onsite staff and manager Christine are fantastic, however due to a greedy owner, their hands are tied with the extent of power they have. They truly do their best with customer service. The issues with this facility is that the owner is greedy, rude, dishonest and not a customer oriented person. Upon signing the lease for a storage unit, I was provided a quote for a monthly expense and no information regarding any discounts being provided. About 7 months after signing the lease they increased my monthly rate by $100. I did not receive any emails nor did I receive any phone calls or snail mail to notify me that my rate would be increasing. When I realized the increase 2 months after it had been initiated. I visited the office in person, I was shown empathy by the management for not being notified and during this conversation I explained that I would need to either downsize or cancel my lease completely due to the price increase. I was then issued a credit to my account for the difference of the two months because I was not notified properly. I explained my intent to pay this month with a discounted rate, due to the credit being applied, and from there I would decide to either downsize or cancel completely. I was happy with the customer service I was provided with at the moment. However, 2 months later I was reviewing my finances, I realized the credit was never applied. I recontacted the facility and was told that the credit would be pushed back through and at this time I had stated my desire to cancel my lease with the facility and that I would need the credit issued as a refund instead. Management told me they would push the refund request through and that it shouldn't be a problem and they apologized for the inconvenience. From there I received a phone call stating that the owner refused my refund, even though I was already guaranteed a credit and it was not properly applied on their end, his excuse stating it was too close to the month's end, their prices reflect market value and I will be paying the same amount anywhere else. While I understand that costs are rising, due to the lack of notification of the rate increase as well as being previously guaranteed a credit as well as a refund, I decided to contact corporate to have this issue resolved. I have now contacted corporate three separate times. All agents that I speak to push it through as a priority case to regional management to review and state that with my situation there should be no problem with the refund being issued. I am told confidently that I will receive a phone call from management within 48 hours and it has now been three times where they have not given me a call back at all. While other local reviews for this facility specifically detailed the greediness of the owner, it is unfortunate to see lack of customer service at the corporate level as well. With so many storage facilities in this local area, save your trouble and go some where where you are treated as a paying customer and not as a paycheck to the owner. The owner hides behind his management team and puts them at the forefront to be scolded by customers who are unhappy. From what I see online, have witnessed in person, and recounts from several staff members, the list of unhappy customers for this single facility alone is very long. There is a second extra space storage location in Flemington where a friend of mine is experiencing similar issues. I'm not sure if it's the same owner, but I would not be surprised.

  The staff has always been kind and helpful. They made my move in simple and the space was exactly as expected. The property is well maintained and cleaned. My experience overall has been great and the staff helps to ensure they are available for questions and help. Easy to access with gate code. Very convenient location.
