I purchased custom Bali faux wood blinds through Lowe's using their professional measurement and installation service because I wanted expert guidance and a worry-free experience.
The installation itself was fine and the quality of the blinds themselves is also fine, but after the installer left I discovered that the blinds do not raise at all. Have you ever heard of "no lift" blinds??!! You have a beautiful view that you can't raise the blinds to see at will? The slats tilt open and closed, but the blinds stay permanently lowered. MADNESS!
Only after reviewing my paperwork did I realize the order had been configured with a "No Lift" option. That was never explained to me during the design consultation. If someone had simply said, "These blinds will not raise," I never would have purchased them. Sonya Bellamy in central selling has been extremely unhelpful and seems to have no appreciation that a customer might not understand that she's buying blinds that don't operate as normal blinds do... I do not recommend her as a sale consultant, she has a lot of development opportunity in explicit communication and understand form and function of a customer's needs.
When customers pay for professional measurement and installation, they are relying on Lowe's expertise to ensure they're buying the right product. Instead, I ended up with custom blinds that don't function the way I expected.
I'm hopeful Lowe's will make this right, but this has been an incredibly disappointing experience.

Quite possibly one of the worst experiences shopping for LED light bulbs I think I've ever had. Not only does Lowe's Utilitech brand dominate the shelves, but the packaging is so generic it's tough to figure out what you're really buying. All of the packaging is blue and white, and if you want a 2700K LED then you better look really hard at the packaging to make sure you don't get a 5000K.
We spent almost 30 minutes looking for bulbs that could be used in different applications. Finally we gave up and ordered from Amazon then and there in the Lowe's aisle.
That was not my first choice. It was my choice of last resort because of the frustration in aisle.
This is a Lowe's merchandising problem, not a problem with the Lowe's stores overall. This can be fixed by varying your assortment, creating better packaging for your lighting, and making it easier for people to understand the light characteristics that come from LED bulbs today.
There was another couple in the aisle with their cart loaded up of lighting fixtures, and they came over and asked us for help.
