  I would personally like to thank Kathleen S. At our local Surf City Lowe’s. I had an urgent part need tonight and Kathleen went above and beyond to help me get the right things, when I needed them ASAP. The store was closing soon, but Kathleen patiently and quite impressively helped me navigate one of the self service kiosks. I arrived only fifteen minutes before closing * unintentionally * I thought they closed at nine but closed early for 4th weekend for employees to spend time with their families. Kathleen is what a home improvement leader should be. Solving peoples challenges when they walk in the door, confused and needing a guiding hand. This type of commitment to Customer Service is a dying art - but Kathleen gets that when you need help - you get it. THANK YOU KATHLEEN!

  I walked into Lowe’s like a lost dog.. talking to ChatGPT asking the questions that I had no idea the answers too. Jason in the lumber area was super super helpful. Took the time to teach me about the plywood the difference between treated and non treated. He took the time to ensure my options for the project I had in mind. As I asked him 30+ questions he never made me feel as if I was a bother or of any of my questions were stupid. Felt like a friend helping me out. Thank you so much Jason for your help and recommendations! If you need help at this Lowe’s with projects Jason is your man!

  Here’s my experience I walked in to Lowe’s. They had a pallet of tile on clearance. I asked Janine the pro desk if she could ask the manager if they would give me a better deal on it. She calls and asked the manager. They said they cannot do anything. I asked Janine if there’s any other manager that we can go around and ask she said I can’t because I’ll get in trouble so I asked a different sales associate. They gave me a better deal on the tile I paid for it And then after I paid for it, Janine calls me back and says we cannot give you the tile for what you paid for it. She then tells me we are giving you a refund because you cannot ask a different manager after one manager has already told you that we cannot give you a better deal. How shitty is that even after I paid for it, they refuse to give me my product I paid for and then gave me a refund and would not honor by technicality my contract, which is my sales receipt where I paid for the materials they might not care, but I will never shop at Lowe’s again

  I purchased a toilet from this Lowe’s location When I had it installed the next morning, we realized there was a very slow leak coming from the tank that would not stop. It was a very slow drip. I went to the store to explain what it happened and told them about the leak. I agreed with the department manager to purchase a replacement toilet and once the new one Was installed I would return the defective toilet. We were hopeful it could happen within 24 to 48 hours but the installers never called Until four days later upon which they told me it would be 12 days before they could install the New toilet. I had to hire a separate plumber When I tried to return the toilet, I was told they would not be able to do so, and they called the same manager who told me I could return it and she acted completely different and was rude and said that was only if I was to return it the same day I explained and recap the conversation with her and she denied everything This department manager needs to be coached and there should be some sort of disciplinary action to treat a customer this way, and to put them through the hassle of bringing a toilet back through the store and then acting as if the conversation never happened. I’m extremely disappointed with this Surf City Lowe’s.

  Drove all over town looking for a specific fertilizer ended up in the Hampstead Lowe's hardware, my feet were on fire. I have a rotator cuff issue and after walking all the way to the back of the garden center searching all afternoon for fertilizer, I decided to call the front desk and ask for help to come help me with the fertilizer bags. There were other fertilizers that were broken and spilling out everywhere. I did not want to handle the material myself. I wanted a clean bag with no holes and needed someone to lift all the other broken bags off of the pile. So I called the front desk, and Kathleen took the call, she kind of chuckled and laughed at me Asking for help on aisle 2 in the garden center and I made it clear to her that's where I was and she said someone would be right there. I sat in an aisle 2, never left aisle 2 and I waited for 15 minutes and no one showed up, so I left my cart in the aisle and walked up front to the customer service desk where Kathleen was standing. She looked right at me because I had described myself to her when i called 15 minutes prior. She said, oh, Jay said he could not find you. I told Kathleen Jay never showed up on aisle 2 in the garden center, so I asked for a manager and instead of getting the store manager I got the cashier manager Christina. We walked back to aisle 2, and I explained to her what I was looking for and I also informed Christina that I saw 5 employees standing around Doing Absolutely nothing when I walked from aisle 2 in the garden center, up to the cashier desk. 5 employees at this location were doing nothing and they were not helping me or any other customers. They were wandering. Christina, and I are in aisle 2 and then a different kathleen shows up. This Kathleen was the Most Helpful of all of them. Eventually, John walked up. He was the store manager. All any of them could do was apologize after 15 minutes of waiting and walking back-and-forth from the front of the store to the back of the store and vice versa. That's all they could offer was apologies. I explained to John that people are paid to do a job and he's got employees that are not doing their jobs while they're on the clock. Literally 5 employees not doing anything when I walked from the garden center to the front desk, and then Jay never showed up. All I could get out of all three was apologies. Nothing else. No discount of even 10%. Nothing absolutely nothing was offered for my inconvenience. Kathleen, number two offered to go with me to my car and load the bags of fertilizer into my vehicle. John, the manager did not offer to do that. The female did john is a male with muscles and he is a manager, and he should be leading by example and he did not. I don't know about you America, but I'm sick and tired of people not doing their job, ever since COVID people have gotten lazy and complacent. Here's another prime example of just that, including the manager. Customer service is not important at this store. Go somewhere else.
