I DO NOT RECOMMEND APTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THEIR SERVICES.
I honestly do not normally leave reviews like this, but I am extremely upset with the way this company treated my parents.
A representative named Anthony came to my parents’ home and sold the service to my dad. My dad does not read English, so Anthony was supposed to explain and translate everything to him. He specifically told my dad that we could cancel the service at any time. He NEVER mentioned that there would be a $199 cancellation fee.
My dad was also told that the contract would be sent to my mom’s email for them to review/sign. My mom unfortunately does not check her email often, so we did not notice until later that a contract had been sent. When we finally looked at it, we discovered that the signature on the contract was NOT my dad’s signature. My dad did not sign that contract himself.
We called Aptive as soon as we realized what had happened and explained the entire situation to customer service. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, the representative basically told us that it did not matter that my dad did not personally sign the contract because they had been provided with banking information, and that if we wanted to cancel, we still had to pay the $199 fee.
That alone is completely unacceptable to me.
On top of that, the customer service representative was incredibly rude and disrespectful to my mom. During the conversation, she became frustrated and told my mom that she was just going to cancel the account. It felt like she was making that decision FOR us instead of actually listening to what my mom was saying. Then she continued asking, “So what do you want me to do?” My mom asked her, “What do you mean? Didn’t you just say you were canceling it?” and instead of answering her directly, she kept responding with more questions.
The entire conversation felt disrespectful, unprofessional, and unnecessarily hostile.
At this point, my parents decided to just pay the cancellation fee because we want absolutely nothing else to do with this company. We would rather lose the $199 than continue dealing with a company that handled the situation this way.
What makes me the most upset is that my parents trusted the person who came into their home to explain what they were agreeing to, especially knowing that my dad could not read the English contract himself. They were told one thing verbally, and then we later discovered terms we were never told about and a signature that my dad says he did not provide or authorize.
PLEASE be extremely careful before signing up with Aptive Environmental. Read every single document yourself, check your email immediately, ask about cancellation fees, and do not rely only on what the salesperson tells you verbally.
I strongly DO NOT recommend this company based on our experience. The way this situation was handled was unfair, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. I hope this review helps someone else avoid going through what my parents just went through.

I have been under contract with this company for eleven months and three weeks at this point. They sprayed the interior of my house and inside the garage of my house on the first visit. I was supposed to be on saturday schedule so someone would be home so they can spray the inside and inside the garage, i have called several times to get Saturday. Appointments, and they told me that had been done 11 months later. It has never happened. The tech will call U5 minutes before arriving. And if he doesn't, they will send you twenty five pictures of what they sprayed on, the outside by then they've already left your house. Would that being said? I only got half of my services for full pay.

I am giving 3 stars because I'm confused! Once I learn more this could change.
I was really pleased/excited after signing up with the sales person, who, btw, came by my home many times before I was actually home to speak to him. I signed up that Wednesday and he told me my first treatment would be the next Friday, 2 days later. The next day I get a text that they're coming to do my treatment. I was confused because I was told Friday. When I got home Aptive had already sprayed outside and left. I wanted the inside of my home treated so I was confused again. I replied back to the text Aptive had sent asking when I'd get the inside treatment I'd requested. The rep apologized and insisted on coming back the very next day, said he was doing my neighbor. I agreed but he never showed. I waited till past 8pm (with no dinner assuming he'd be there any minute and my son was starving and I told the rep we were waiting on him) and he never showed or texted. I texted him. He said Saturday - today. He never showed today either. And no text, no communication.
I'm very confused and concerned that I've signed up for a scam. The texting rep was so nice and adamant initially and then to not communicate or show. I was ghosted by Aptive!?!
Suffice it to say, I'm contacting Aptive tomorrow to see if I can cancel everything. This is very disappointing. And the salesman was so awesome, but I guess that's always the way. So, so disappointed. And confused.
Also, my house still had spiderwebs all around the deck and front porch. I thought that was all to be cleaned. I don't smell any mint around my windows either.

We have just started our service. A few things though.
The sales team is too aggressive. Predatory in their approach. I understand the field sometimes you have to be persistent, but knocking on a homes door at 8pm to ask about pest control and not taking 2-3 refusals is insane behavior. Off that alone my family and I are tempted to remove service. They quickly run through the process of what they do and boast about the high review ratings via Google, how they are known nationally, and can service anywhere. Which is great sounding of course. What they fail to mention is for this service you must lock into a contract for 12-24mo and to break the contract early you must pay a 199$ fee. The sales associate that I encountered also didn’t mention in the brief conversation that he look the liberty of signing me up for the highest tier package they have.(must call them to change package type, no way to do it via the company portal)
Will I keep an open mind and give them a month to see if the product works? Sure. Would I recommend the company to others? No. Within the Triad area I would recommend looking into Terminix for pest control. No contact needed. Easy to access. Especially for my folks in the Triad.

This company sends door to door sales people to neighborhoods. We felt kind of bad for the kid who came to our house, and so we agreed to try their service. The rep assured us that we could cancel at ANY time with a 30 day notice.
He also assured us that the techs would spray the entire perimeter of our house and also take care of knocking down spider webs and controlling bees and mosquitos.
When the tech arrived, he was here less than 5 minutes and did not do anything besides spraying the exterior in the front of our house. Quite honestly, the insects seemed worse after he left.
Now I am on the hook for $110 per month for 36 months. Please, please do not sign up with them. Very deceiving and their customer service department (which seems to be located in India) was no help.
This is being disputed at my bank now. Stick with Terminex or another well know company.

Aptive otherwise does not treat any wood-destroying organisms such as termites, carpenter bees, or carpenter ants. Aptive also does not treat any wildlife, such as squirrels, racoons, chipmunks, rabbits, birds, deer, etc. Aptive also does not treat bees of any kind. For a full list, click here.
Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?
If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.
How much does professional pest control cost?
Our professional pest control plans start as low as $49 to $55 per month for our Basic plan, depending on your location. We offer three primary tiers—Basic, Pro, and Premium—designed to fit different levels of protection needs and budgets.
Do you offer same-day pest control services?
Yes, depending on current technician availability. If you call before noon, we can often provide same-day service for urgent pest issues.
How soon can a technician come out for an emergency?
We strive for 24 to 48-hour response times. For emergencies like a yellow jacket nest or indoor roach sightings, we prioritize your call in our daily schedule.
Do you spray both the inside and outside of the house?
Yes, standard service covers both. We focus on the exterior to stop pests at the source and treat the interior (baseboards/under sinks) to eliminate any that have already entered.
What areas are included in a "perimeter" treatment?
A perimeter treatment covers 3 feet up the foundation and 3 feet out into the yard. We also treat windowsills, door frames, and eaves.
How do I get rid of an ant infestation in my kitchen?
To stop ants, we use "transferable" baits. Workers carry the bait back to the queen, killing the entire colony rather than just the ants you see on the counter.
What is the best treatment for German cockroaches?
German roaches require a combination of baiting, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and sanitation. They are resilient, so 2–3 follow-up visits are often required for total elimination.
Is pest control safe for children and infants?
Yes, we prioritize family-safe applications. By focusing on the exterior and using low-toxicity indoor treatments, we minimize exposure. We recommend keeping children out of treated areas for 30–60 minutes until dry.
What is your "Pest-Free Guarantee"?
Our guarantee means if the pests return between scheduled visits, we return for free. We stay until the problem is solved.
Do you offer free re-treatments?
Yes, all of our recurring plans include unlimited free re-treatments for covered pests.
Why am I still seeing bugs after my first service?
This is the "flush out" period. The treatment is driving pests out of their hiding spots. They will die off shortly after coming into contact with the product.
Why is the pest problem getting worse?
This usually happens with ants and roaches as they are attracted to our baits. This "surge" is a sign that the colony is actively feeding on the treatment.
How can I tell if a treatment was successful?
Success is measured by a steady decrease in sightings and finding dead insects rather than live ones.
Do you guarantee 100% elimination?
We guarantee to control and manage populations to the point where they do not infest your living space. No one can stop every single bug from ever entering, but we ensure they don't stay.
