I thougjt that the purpose of ordeing online, yesterday, to ensure a next day pickup meant that the order would be ready for pickup by the next day ... if i wanted to wait for the order to be reteieved from the back, i would have just come in and shopped ... you had about 16 houts to get the otder to the front ... amazingly apathetic ...the definition of "ready" must have been changed ???

Where has customer service gone these days? It seems like you need a scratch-off ticket just to find someone willing to help. This review is long, but I feel it needs to be said. My family and I have been working on improving our yard and decided to tackle the project ourselves rather than hire professionals. On May 19, 2026, we visited the Lowe’s on Highway 42 to purchase pavers. Before arriving, the website showed they were out of stock. However, when we got there, we were told they actually had over 4,200 available.
I asked an employee named Jorge if Lowe’s delivered pavers. Rather than checking or asking someone who might know, he simply said “no.” That was frustrating, especially with temperatures already over 80 degrees outside. I also expected some assistance loading the pavers, but none was offered. Instead, my young daughter and I loaded forty 8-pound pavers ourselves. We returned on May 30, 2026, to purchase additional supplies. We encountered one employee in a blue vest who was loudly talking on his phone while handling bags of mulch and sand. He did not appear to be on break, so we simply moved on. Thankfully, we later found another employee wearing a red vest whose name we unfortunately did not get. He was excellent. He climbed under the shelving, pulled out five 40-pound bags of paver sand, and loaded them into our cart without hesitation. He demonstrated the kind of customer service that keeps people coming back.
On May 31, 2026, we returned once more. It was incredibly hot outside, and we needed approximately 70 additional pavers along with landscaping stakes. The remaining pavers were stacked far back on the pallets, so my oldest daughter and I created our own assembly line. I pulled the pavers forward while she removed them from the shelf. Another customer arrived needing about 50 pavers and patiently waited for us to finish. He then asked a nearby employee if the pallet could be pulled forward to make access easier. The employee immediately responded that the area would need to be shut down and roped off if he moved it. Fair enough—I understand safety procedures. However, instead of helping, he began counting pavers on the pallet, saying there were 72 per row and calculating the total. Nobody had asked him to count them.
At that point, I asked him whether Lowe’s delivered pavers. He replied, “Yes.” I couldn’t help but tell him that multiple employees over the previous two weeks had told me the exact opposite. This points to a larger issue: communication. Teams should be meeting regularly to ensure employees understand the services Lowe’s offers and can provide customers with accurate information. The bright spot in all of this was the customer service desk. Every time we had a question, they seemed to know the answer immediately.
Long story short: if you need accurate information, skip the runaround and go directly to Customer Service. They seem to be the ones who know what’s going on.
