Ordered a dishwasher during a sale. Got notified it was ready for pickup. When I arrived they told me it wasnt actually there and to check back tomorrow. Called for the next 3 days and nobody knew where it was or when it would arrive. I got notified by an email that I have one day left to pickup my item (the one that isnt there) called customer care and they could only tell me to cancel my order, because there was nothing else they could offer to resolve the issue. So now I will lose the money I would have saved. If a Home Depot opened a location nearby, they would sweep this place up

This review is specifically for the Elizabeth City, North Carolina location.
The dishwasher I received through this location arrived damaged, and my experience trying to resolve the issue through this location was extremely disappointing. What should have been a simple appliance exchange turned into several days of stress, confusion, and unnecessary frustration.
I called Lowe's Customer Support regarding the Elizabeth City location on June 20, 2026, between approximately 2:10 PM and 2:15 PM concerning my damaged appliance order. The first representative I spoke with had a dismissive and unprofessional attitude throughout the call. She refused to provide her name when I asked and did not help resolve my concern. Little did she know, I only wanted her name for my case notes regarding my appliance exchange. She then rudely ended the call and hung up on me before my issue was addressed, leaving me frustrated and without a solution.
Things became even more frustrating after I was previously told that a replacement claim would be submitted, only to discover later that no claim could be found in the system. After multiple calls and several days of stress, I felt like I was doing all the work to fix a problem I did not create. My experience with the Elizabeth City location was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful.
As a disabled customer, this entire process became far more difficult than it needed to be. Clear communication and basic customer service from this location would have solved this much earlier.
Lowe's should seriously investigate the customer service and handling of appliance issues associated with the Elizabeth City location. Several interactions I experienced were rude, disrespectful, and unnecessarily dismissive toward a customer simply trying to resolve a damaged delivery.
Thankfully, Michelle and supervisor Brianna from Lowe's Corporate Customer Care stepped in and completely changed the experience. To be clear, they are members of Lowe's Corporate Customer Care team and are not affiliated with the Elizabeth City location. They acknowledged that I received a damaged appliance, recognized the poor assistance I had received, and even stated in writing that I had done everything correctly. Without their involvement, this issue likely would not have been resolved.
After multiple calls, escalations, and reviews, Lowe's ultimately completed the exchange and confirmed that my final cost would remain the same as my original purchase price. The replacement dishwasher is being provided by another Lowe's location, not Elizabeth City.
In a strange twist of fate, the people who made this process the most difficult may have accidentally helped me end up with a nicer dishwasher. Not exactly the customer service strategy I would recommend, but I suppose I should thank them for the upgrade.
