  Wednesday, July 8, 2026 - 2:49pm Just left Lowe’s in Belmont. Trying to get two bed slats cut and had the exact bed slat in my hand. No one would help me and when I finally found someone to ask for help in the lumber section he was rude and dismissive and told me I had to pick out my own pieces of lumber and haul it to the back to get it cut. I’m now on my way to Home Depot.

  I must give a shout out to the associate that helped me find the correct products I was needing today. I forgot to ask her name because I want her to be acknowledged. She has excellent customer service skills. Positive attitude with a smile. Extremely helpful. Most importantly she didn't make me feel rushed which made it a very pleasant shopping experience. When I find out her name, I will update this review.

  Worst Lowes in the area, stay away from the poor management in Belmont and go to Gastonia (they will be getting a great review for their amazing service) Keep in mind, this horrible treatment by manager Brad also includes the fact that I spend thousands of dollars here and was turning around to spend 4 thousand more on a different mower makes this situation worse. It all started when I ordered a Craftsman tractor, they stated it needed to be built and I waited a few days then I get there and they roll up a tractor that looks like it's been used or sitting in the back for a year, it was dirty with dust all over it and missing things ( I should have refused it). I drove it twice in the first week and decided it was assembled bad as the front wheels were wobbly and when you turn they would lock up and spin the back tires. I decided it wasn't for me and I should get something built better so I put in for a return and ordered a zero turn that needed to be shipped and assembled which took about a week. I was fine with waiting because I went out of town. I placed the other order and waited. The app said it was ready so I went up that night to exchange it and they had notified me in the store that it would be assembled the next day, the person there told me that I would just need to drain the gas out so I said OK I will do everything when my new mower is ready so I can just exchange it. Everything seemed fine but when I went in the next day to exchange, the floor manager said I couldn't and then the store manager came out and told me the same thing and said I would need to get an RA number from Craftsman to return it. I called Craftsman and they informed me after speaking to 4 different people that they do not give them to customers. I then went to the corporate website and started a chat with the customer service. They apologized and said that the store needs to take it back and they created a case number and all I would need to do is go back and give them the case number. I went back thinking ok this is solved but to my surprise a new manager came out and he asked if I used a Lowes card to buy it.. I said yes (but why should that matter?) He said ok wait and he went in his office for about 15 minutes and came back out and told me that two managers said I could not return it and he was not going to accept the return based on their decision. I was upset and showed him the messages with customer service and he stated that he had no way to look up that case number. I said look, this is what will happen. You are forcing me to go return it at another lowes because it's your scam you are running to make me so upset and waste my time to get me to return it to another store so you don't take a return hit which I believe will lower your monthly bonus. I said this is no way to treat someone and I will be very angry. I went to Lowes in Gastonia and I can't express how well I was treated, they were extremely helpful they did their jobs and asked some questions and looked over my return. Asked if I broke anything and I said no, the front wheels seem wobbly and I don't like the way it cuts and she said no problem. I brought it to the front and she looked at it and took it back as it looked brand new and was really only used once and cleaned off. I really wish Gastonia had the mower I wanted because every fiber in my body want to cancel with Belmont and spend my money with Gastonia but unfortunately the mower I waited over a week to get would need to be special ordered. I went back to Belmont Lowes and made sure I told the manager there that I had returned the mower in Gastonia and what they put me through was not right since I need to load the mower in a trailer 3 times and finally bring it to another store. He did not care. I will say that the associates that brought out the mower had no idea what they were doing, most likely from poor management but the effort was there and they worked together and had good customer service. 0 stars to managers of Belmont NC Lowes and their return scam needs to be investigated.
