On Saturday, May 9, I placed an online order with Lowe’s in Waveland Mississippi. The order was scheduled to be delivered Sunday, May 10 in the morning. On Sunday it was noon, and my delivery was not here. I called the store directly. The robot told me that the order should’ve been delivered at 9 AM that morning, confirming what I already knew. When I finally spoke to a person, they told me that they don’t deliver themselves. They use an Uber style delivery service, basically an outside contractor. I asked them if they had any information about the delivery. They did not, they could not tell me if and when it would be delivered that day. They did give me the name of the contractor they use. When I called that contractor, they told me that their personnel had not even left for the Lowe’s store to pick up my order and presumably other orders. And here it was already noon. They told me that my order would not arrive until 8 PM that evening. So I canceled the order. I also called Lowe’s and canceled with them.
Lowe’s refunded my money minus the delivery charge. I called the store and asked them to refund the delivery charge and they declined saying that it’s up to the delivery company. I told them that I made the purchase on their website and that only their name was on my credit card and checking statement. So the money had to come from them, they got nasty with me and hung up the phone. I finally found the number for the delivery company, they told me that they never give refunds and that Lowe’s knows this and that I need to call them back.
I made multiple calls to Lowe’s, routinely being put on an extended hold when I asked for a manager. They told me they gave him a message to call me. Five hours later I had not heard from him. Multiple calls later to multiple people at Lowe’s and still no resolution. They are still declining to refund me, still claiming that the delivery company is responsible, even though they are the ones that took my money. At this point, I have stopped the credit card payment and disputed the charges.
I cannot believe how poor their customer service is in such a large nationwide store. Their people were dismissive, refused to speak to me, refused to call me back, refused to even hear what was happening. I never once raised my voice, I never once got snooty with them, I maintained my composure, and they were absolutely unprofessional and aggressive.
For future reference, I have never had this problem with tractor supply or Home Depot. They seem to use their own delivery people.

I have bought a Makita electric weedeater and leaf blower combo and used it to trim up the property that I had bought in Shoreline Park. I felt like the prices were decent and the staff was OK. It’s in a good location as well especially if you need to buy materials to build or repair.

The 3rd party delivery driver helper used by Lowe’s threatened to beat up and kill the owner of the complex and a tenant. We have this on audio recording. Today, we swore out a warrant and tomorrow morning I meet with an attorney to sue both Lowe’s and the 3rd party shipping company out of Lafayette, LA.
Spoke directly with the store manager at the Waveland, MS store where I ordered from. Basically, she didn’t care and gave me the “we will escalate it” story. Completely unacceptable.
Will NEVER buy from Lowe’s again. Will gladly pay more or price match with Home Depot.
