- NTNicole TAug 7, 20262.0I am writing about an uncomfortable experience at the Hobby Lobby in Kirkwood, Missouri, on Lindbergh Boulevard, on Friday, August 7, 2026, at approximately 6:16 p.m. I came in to return items without a receipt and accepted merchandise credit according to store policy. The female employee/greeter near Register 1 and the returns area greeted and spoke to customers ahead of and behind me, yet did not greet or acknowledge me. While I was standing there, she also questioned the cashier about my returned items in an unpleasant manner rather than speaking directly to me. As a Black woman, the noticeable difference in treatment made me feel singled out, unwelcome, and racially discriminated against. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced uncomfortable racial tension at this location. I was simply following store policy and expected the same courtesy shown to other customers. Because of these repeated experiences, I will not return to this location.

I asked an employee named Jimmy for assistance, and he immediately stopped what he was doing to help. Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. He enlisted the help of another employee, Casey, and together they worked with the manager to determine a fair and reasonable price for the bookshelf. Thanks to their teamwork and willingness to help, I was able to purchase the item. To top it off, Jimmy carried the bookshelf to my car and loaded it into my trunk, which I truly appreciated. The customer service I received was outstanding from start to finish. I want to thank Jimmy and Casey for their professionalism, patience, and positive attitudes, as well as the manager for being flexible and fair with the pricing. They turned what could have been a frustrating situation into a genuinely pleasant shopping experience. I will definitely be returning for future purchases.
