I do like shopping at Lowe's, the staff are all very nice, but... the store itself is the issue. I have a disability and use their motorized carts available, which is great they have them, but the store is NOT ADA COMPLIANT AT ALL and the carts are almost useless in some areas of the store. I was trying to shop for tools as a gift, but the shelving is so close together I couldn't turn down some aisles and others were blocked off by rolling ladders. Even when I was able to turn down an aisle I ended up bumping into something or had to back up to escape. I got so angry and frustrated at not being able to look at the tools, because of how horribly close the shelves were pushed together and being unable to maneuver, I gave up and didn't buy any! Then I decided to go out to the gardening center to look for plants to give to my mom, but those racks are too close too! The racks and shelving for plants are so close to each other I couldn't even squeeze the cart between them, I doubt someone without my spinal injury could have easily looked at them either, but it made looking for plants 10 times harder. I had to hunt for gaps where my cart could fit so I could look at some of the plant selection, and then as I tried to round a corner a gardening hose I didn't see got caught under my motorized cart - I had to work myself off of it and, while do that, I ended up getting my foot caught between the cart and a pallet and getting hurt since I had such little room to move. I was so frustrated and upset by the time I got free of the hose I just found the first vine I thought my mom would like and went to check out - I didn't bother looking for any of the other gifts I was planning to buy from Lowe's while there. And honestly, I never really want to go back. I use a cane most days and need the assist while shopping, so I'm happy when stores have motorized carts available, but there's a huge difference between having them and being able to actually use them in the store! If Lowe's wants to do better, their managers would restructure the store and bring it up to ADA compliance and make it fully accessible to people. The LEAST they could do is drive around their own store in one of the motorized carts, find the problem areas, and re-space out shelving so their customers can actually shop safely without any issues. I honestly thought about filing a formal complaint with the store, but I'm leaving this review here for now until I cool my head and I'm not angry anymore and my foot stops hurting...
