  After having two sliding rockers for a few months, a manufacturing defect came to light. We were rocking, enjoying the summer evening when all of a sudden my wife's chair made a cracking noise and tilted hard left. We discovered that one of the screws in the rocking mechanism came loose and the linkage disconnected. I reinstalled the screw and the chair seemed to be okay. 5 minuter later the same thing happened to the chair I was sitting on. Again, I re-installed the screw and checked all the others for tightness. It looks to me like just two screws were not torqued, one on each chair. Nobody was hurt, but falling out of the chair was a real scare. We are in our 70's.
