  Ordered a new grill. It arrived damaged. They offered a discount and I accepted. I never received the discount and after receiving the replacement part from the manufacturer (72 hours later) and started to unwrap the rest of the pieces discovered more damage. I called customer service and was hung up on. Called back and was told that I only had 48 hours after delivery to have the grill replaced and I was stuck with a grill that has creases in the sheet metal that should be straight. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER!

  Most of the staff are helpful, but one staff member can ruin the shopping experience. That's what I encountered today when I purchased a sheet of drywall. I asked if it could be cut into smaller pieces so that I could transport it in my my car. I was referred to an individual I'll call Freddy they said would be happy to assist me. When he arrived, he was anything but. He simply refused. When I asked why, he would give no reason. I tried to be as conciliatory and diplomatic as possible. When I asked if I could borrow a utility knife and cut it myself, he told me bluntly to go buy one. Eventually, they referred me to one person who grudgingly helped me. I hasten to remind you that your customers are primarily DIY homeowners who need your assistance. Not all of us have a full size truck where we can haul things as is. Otherwise, you had better hope that enough commercial business will fill the void. Perhaps Freddy was having a bad day. I was told he just started his shift. I hate to imagine what he'd be like later in the day. I know this is a tough job and the store is sometimes understaffed. I can understand, as I've worked in retail and manufacturing myself. Still, I do not condone taking your frustrations out on your customers. If there is indeed a company policy forbidding the cutting of drywall on behalf of customers (e.g. risk of liability), then it's his responsibility to explain that to the customer and offer options. Instead, he just blew me off. I bought over $200 worth of merchandise that day. That experience nearly compelled me to abandon my full cart, and head out to HD or Menards. If Lowe's is ill-treating their employees, then be advised that it's beginning to adversely affect the customer experience.

  I ordered some construction materials for same-day delivery on Wednesday and were delayed a day (they refunded a portion of the delivery fee for this). When they arrived, around a third of the materials were missing and the driver stated that I would have to reach out to their help line to get the rest delivered. I called in that day and was told that I would have be contacted in 24 hours to have it fixed. Two days later, I visited my closest Lowe's and they told me that nothing was on file and that I would have to call over to the Plymouth location. I called in and got hung up on by a customer rep. I called back in and a new rep stated that it was my responsibly to call out to their delivery service to get it fixed. I told them that it was crazy to expect a customer to reach out to their own delivery service to get missing items replaced. The customer rep finally agreed and said that it would be sent out on Sunday or Monday at the latest. I called in on Monday at 4 PM asking what the status of the order was and the customer service rep stated that they did not have a replacement order on file or any idea what I was talking about. I got ahold of their manager and they finally got the missing materials delivered at 8 PM 6 days later. There has been no attempt to apologize or make the situation right. I truly don't understand how this store manages to function.

  I have to say that Lowe’s must spend a significant amount of money training its employees, but this is now the second time I’ve experienced a complete lack of competence from the staff. The first time, it took seven employees to cut a set of window blinds to fit my window. They ruined around ten sample pieces before we finally ended up with something that was only approximately the correct size. Today, I purchased a grill that was on sale. I drive a mid-size SUV. It’s reasonable to expect that an item offered for curbside pickup would at least be packaged in a way that fits into an average vehicle, not to mention a smaller one. Instead, an employee brought out a fully assembled grill. There was absolutely no way it would fit in my SUV. I ended up taking out my own screwdriver in the parking lot and removing the legs just to make it fit. Even then, it barely went in. I scratched the interior of my vehicle, had to force the grill inside, and several parts started falling off during the process. What made this even more frustrating was that the employee repeatedly told me that because the grill was on sale for $179, it “only comes assembled.” That explanation simply doesn’t make sense. The grill itself was dirty inside and had standing water in it, making it obvious that it had been sitting outside. It appeared to be the last display model available rather than a new product. I find it very hard to believe that these grills are shipped to the store fully assembled. That would be inefficient for shipping and storage, and it would make transportation home difficult for almost every customer. There was also no mention anywhere on the product page that curbside pickup would be a fully assembled display model. At the very least, customers should be informed before pickup so they can bring a larger vehicle or arrange other transportation. Instead, I had to disassemble the grill myself in the parking lot just to get it home. The entire experience was an unnecessary waste of time on a Sunday and left me extremely disappointed. I simply don’t understand why something that should have been straightforward was made so difficult. Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I sincerely hope Lowe’s takes this feedback seriously and improves both employee training and communication with customers.
