Went to return my item with receipt and not even used . The lady at the return desk wouldn’t take the item back stating it has to be immediately re sellable and in its original bag unopened. (It was in its bag but opened)
Absolutely ridiculous. Such a waste of time will not be going back to Lowe’s in oak park heights !

Edit: this would be -10 stars if I could. They sent quarter round that they said would match the molding. It didn't come close so we had to quickly find something in stock at a hardware store and buy it. We have to return the quarter round they sent us ourselves or they will charge us for their mistake. Then although they said leveling was part of the price, just kidding. Whatever they feel reasonable is and then you need to find your own person so the project stops. Then Lowe's was going to charge another $1000 to add plywood in one area or remove in another area. We were told by the measuring person and design person it would be no problem to make the transition from the linoleum and carpet with the new flooring. Want to cancel the project? Expect to sit on hold for a super long time.
This review is for Lowes in general and about buying flooring and having them install it.
If you pick Lowe's to install you work with multiple people/depts at each step and they don't communicate with each other or have access to each others info. If an item is back ordered making your whole project be on hold they won't work in a timely manner to get the item, they already took all your money so they have no incentive to have good customer service. If you need to talk to someone at central sales the connection may be poor. After waiting weeks for the back order item you get frustrated and look to see if it is stock at nearby stores. You find it is. You call a store and get no where. You go to the store and are also getting no where so say you aren't leaving until it is resolved. What you have to do to get the product and not double pay (it was an idea the sales person had and her and the person at the other store had never done it): call the store the order originated from -they can easily look it up because you might not know. They cancel that part of the order and issue a refund. You then buy the product at the store where it is in stock and take it home. Hopefully you have a vehicle big enough to haul it. If you can't take it you are at their mercy for when Lowes gets ambitious to pick it up and transfer between stores and that is a minimum of several weeks and it may no longer be in stock. You then have to call the store that the original purchase came from and let them know you did their job so please let the installers know we are ready to move on. I don't know flooring projects but I am pretty confident we don't need anywhere near as many transition pieces as Lowe's said we did (the piece that held up the project) and most will be returned in the end.

5/13/26 1:20pm. It's a real nice store and well-organized clean stocked and lighted well. A lot of friendly employees and they're busy at their job but also paying attention to customers. It's not a place I shop very often but the times I've been in there it's always been nice. Ample parking on the lot.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
