Terrible experience taking advantage of a wife alone dealing with 3 children in her pajamas.... Door to door salesperson (Hayden) stopped by and after multiple times saying that we already had a service that we are happy with he promised to provide the first service for free and repeatedly stated that there would be no fee to cancel the contract if you were not happy.
2 weeks later, tried to call him directly from the number he provided and didn't answer so I called the company directly and they said we would have to pay a $199 cancellation fee but you can try and call the sales rep, Hayden, directly. After multiple days of texts and calls with no answer from the sales rep we called the company back again and they said there is nothing they can do since we accepted the agreement. Just terrible, pushy sales and inconsiderate service..

The Aptiv people we have dealt with are GREAT! Their people are not the problem!!! The problem is their products or lack of. We have had 3 treatments for ants on our patios and we are still dealing with the ants, the wasp/hornet traps are completely ineffective and we have requested exterior fly traps the last 3 visits and they never have them with them. So after this last visit we purchased our own fly traps. I have attached photos of the fly traps after 1 day of being placed in the yard.

Door to door sales person (Colin) comes to my place. Starts his memorized lines, talking about my neighbors, to which i tell him i don't really care about my neighbors (this is a very common sales tactic to guilt you into buying). Then he goes on, as I ask him for some proof of licensing that allows him to go door to door. He continues his lines, and i tell him i'm not interested.
his response ? " ... So, you're wasting both our times ?!".
this was all under 1 minute long. All on video.
Unprofessional, untrained, foolish, insulting and uncaring, cannot take a no apparently. Beware of pushy sales tactics from a snowflake bro. I filed an official complaint with the parent company. and went to the local office, while it says open until 8pm, 6:15pm there is no one there. I'll go back.

First time I’ve ever been so disappointed by a service. It was completely unsatisfactory.
A sales representative came to our door and promised they would provide pest control and remove all the spider webs around the house. Based on that promise, I signed up. However, they never removed the spider webs as promised, and they still charged me. (Pictures were taken after the service on June 27)
To make matters worse, I had to spend a long time waiting on the phone just to cancel the service.
It was not only a waste of money but also a waste of time. Lesson learned.

This is not a reflection of Lannie but is a reflect on operation procedures: (Lannie you were fine… see comments below on photos for improvements - if allowed by corp):
* as someone who works at home, w/dogs: it’s important to know, much earlier than a 30 min warning, if a person will come (or not come). Today’s session interrupted an important meeting. ( the previous re-spray apt was cancelled after a day-window on Monday with essentially no real-time notifications OR something other than ‘we’ll (try) to come on this day, no timeframes’
* it would be great if upcoming appointments are shown directly after the recent treatment in the portal, to make sure that time meets both our timelines & to know if I need to schedule a follow up from the last apt before the next apt.
* as a first time customer, not having anything scheduled in your AWFUL portal (separate issue) directly after first treatment, says: your company doesn’t care about the results they are ‘providing’ and waits to do any analysis to see if the initial treatment works after more than at least 30-60 days, unless a customer complains. Paraphrasing but the contract indicates a review will happen and then a schedule will be determined after that <— this didn’t happen. Why can’t your scheduling be more transparently? Also: given I scheduled today’s apt as a follow up:I still expect additional services in July and, ya know maybe a statement somewhere about whether the current strategy is working?
* apparently there are two rodent traps, the person who installed them didn’t remember where the second was… it was ‘somewhere in the brush’…. And it wasn’t checked in today’s visit based on the photos.
* contract indicates that your company would evaluate the status of all traps, and either move them, or add more as necessary to contain the mosquitos or rodents.
I have almost no idea what the images your tech sent me are. I know (ish) that there are two hanging mosquito traps and two ground traps. How the heck am I supposed to know what’s in these photos if they are not documented?! (Sent from Lannie, again: no grrs at Lannie, but a LOT of grrs at the company.)
How do I have ANY idea about what is/isn’t working and what is being modified to make it work?????
And just to say once again: your new portal sucks- can’t log in on some devices- and when I can it provides zero clarity on how you all are rectifying the rodent/bug issues on the property…. Which is literally what I’m paying you to do. All it has is your billing.
Your portal should provide insights into the services provided & when, as well as upcoming service dates: BASED ON THE STATUS OF THE PROPERTY.
Frequently Asked Questions About Aptive Pest Control
What is Aptive Pest Control?

Aptive provides residential pest control services to customers in more than 3,700 cities across North America. What does Aptive Pest Control do?
Aptive offers year-round pest control services for a range of insects and invasive species., including wasps, ants, scorpions, spiders, crickets, fleas, cockroaches, mice, rats, silverfish, earwigs, slugs, and snails.
Is Aptive pest control safe?
Aptive’s goal is to provide customers with professional and effective pest control solutions that reduce the harmful effects of pests. Aptive uses EPA approved products and follows all guidelines for the appropriate use of the products. Aptive is also a member of the EPA’s Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program, a program that engages communities in building awareness and reducing pesticide risk.
What pests do you treat?
Aptive treats common pests like ants, spiders, cockroaches, rodents, wasps, snails, flies, fleas, and ticks. Aptive recently started providing Termite Protection in the Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus areas. Aptive otherwise does not treat any wood-destroying organisms such as termites, carpenter bees, or carpenter ants. Aptive also does not treat any wildlife, such as squirrels, racoons, chipmunks, rabbits, birds, deer, etc. Aptive also does not treat bees of any kind. For a full list, click here.
Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?
If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.
How much does professional pest control cost?
Our professional pest control plans start as low as $49 to $55 per month for our Basic plan, depending on your location. We offer three primary tiers—Basic, Pro, and Premium—designed to fit different levels of protection needs and budgets.
Do you offer same-day pest control services?
Yes, depending on current technician availability. If you call before noon, we can often provide same-day service for urgent pest issues.
How soon can a technician come out for an emergency?
We strive for 24 to 48-hour response times. For emergencies like a yellow jacket nest or indoor roach sightings, we prioritize your call in our daily schedule.
Do you spray both the inside and outside of the house?
Yes, standard service covers both. We focus on the exterior to stop pests at the source and treat the interior (baseboards/under sinks) to eliminate any that have already entered.
What areas are included in a "perimeter" treatment?
A perimeter treatment covers 3 feet up the foundation and 3 feet out into the yard. We also treat windowsills, door frames, and eaves.
How do I get rid of an ant infestation in my kitchen?
To stop ants, we use "transferable" baits. Workers carry the bait back to the queen, killing the entire colony rather than just the ants you see on the counter.
What is the best treatment for German cockroaches?
German roaches require a combination of baiting, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and sanitation. They are resilient, so 2–3 follow-up visits are often required for total elimination.
Is pest control safe for children and infants?
Yes, we prioritize family-safe applications. By focusing on the exterior and using low-toxicity indoor treatments, we minimize exposure. We recommend keeping children out of treated areas for 30–60 minutes until dry.
What is your "Pest-Free Guarantee"?
Our guarantee means if the pests return between scheduled visits, we return for free. We stay until the problem is solved.
Do you offer free re-treatments?
Yes, all of our recurring plans include unlimited free re-treatments for covered pests.
Why am I still seeing bugs after my first service?
This is the "flush out" period. The treatment is driving pests out of their hiding spots. They will die off shortly after coming into contact with the product.
Why is the pest problem getting worse?
This usually happens with ants and roaches as they are attracted to our baits. This "surge" is a sign that the colony is actively feeding on the treatment.
How can I tell if a treatment was successful?
Success is measured by a steady decrease in sightings and finding dead insects rather than live ones.
Do you guarantee 100% elimination?
We guarantee to control and manage populations to the point where they do not infest your living space. No one can stop every single bug from ever entering, but we ensure they don't stay.
