⭐ ONE STAR — Disgusting customer service and a sales experience that left us feeling deceived. We spent nearly $6,000 on a Tempur-Pedic Luxe Hybrid mattress at Gardner White on Telegraph Road about 60 days ago. My husband and I were leaning toward the soft mattress, but the salesperson pushed us toward the medium and reassured us that we could exchange it if we weren’t happy. What they FAILED to disclose during that conversation was that the exchange would cost approximately $760—a $199.99 white-glove fee PLUS a 10% restocking fee. That is a significant expense to leave out while using the ability to exchange as reassurance to close a sale. We now wake up every day with back pain and soreness between our shoulder blades. This mattress feels like a brick, nothing like the medium we tried in the showroom. Corporate told us to walk on it and keep the room warmer. We followed those suggestions, and nothing changed. When we explained that the salesperson never disclosed the exchange fees, corporate sent us back to the store. Store manager Rachel contacted regional manager Randel, whose response was essentially: you signed the paperwork, so pay the fees. That response is infuriating. Having a fee buried in paperwork does not excuse failing to explain it when a customer is specifically being reassured about an exchange. We were making our decision based on what YOUR salesperson told us. We were also repeat customers. We purchased a couch and two recliners from this store about 10 months ago and planned to purchase another family room set. We even offered a compromise: a discount on a clearance floor model to help offset the exchange expense. Rachel was willing to help. We found an $800 piece and offered to pay $100 with a $700 discount. When she called Randel to discuss processing it, he shut that down too. In our experience, Randel’s customer service was appalling. He rejected both a fee waiver and a proposed compromise, leaving us with the impression that keeping our money mattered far more than addressing how we were sold this mattress. Rachel made an effort, but regional management made sure it went nowhere. We are disgusted. We trusted the salesperson, spent nearly $6,000, and are now expected to pay hundreds more to exchange the mattress we were steered toward in the first place. Randel’s handling of this situation has cost Gardner White our business permanently. We will never buy another thing from this store. Before you spend your money here, get every promise—and every exchange fee—in writing. The reassuring sales pitch we received did not match the expensive reality.

they don’t tell you that when they run your credit it’s a HARD hit on your credit. I went here just a few days ago and no one told me it was a hard hit on your credit!!!! definitely choose bob’s discount furniture instead because they do a soft pull and so do some many other furniture stores. DON’T GO HERE UNLESS YOU’RE BUYING. worst place and even worst service and i’ve been to several other furniture stores in the past week.

I guess the store experience was just ok. Not a person in there besides us and employees. They charge $200 for delivery and it was a horrific experience!!!! So glad I didn't pay that ridiculous amount. I was scheduled to get a delivery on Thursday, I go through the whole how many stops they are away from mine then we are on our way. I wait and wait and wait and no one shows. I check the app and see, hey your stop is canceled. Mind you I've been home for hours with the 4-11pm window I was told by the store for delivery. I call the store and they tell me your item was not on the truck. You're kidding right I've been home waiting for you people and not one of you has the courtesy to call me 😡. So we go to the next schedule day. That was just as horrific. I'm the last stop, they are 2 hours past my window. They call to say they are on their way I'm outside they leave no voicemail and when I call back the number it's a hello. Listen teach your people to be professional. This is so and so from gardner white I had called about your delivery. Not just hello. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. I've asked twice for a supervisor to call me on a recorded line and guess what no one has called. Terrible service!

Buyer beware, we purchased the 4 year protection program and are trying to get our $500 store credit after not using it. My wife called and spoke to Loretta in customer service Ann Arbor on 4/25 at 11:14am and was told oh no you have to wait and call on October 1st to claim it. Today she called October 1st and talked to Kayla at Ann Arbor customer service again and was told oh no you have to call on your purchase date, and get this you have to call on your purchase date or the very next day or you lose the $500 credit... So you wait 4 years dont use something, and are told you have two very exact days to claim or else its gone? Sounds pretty scammy hoping people forget to claim/call on it. Being told multiple different things also. Whats the deal?!

Should be 0 stars to be honest, me and my girlfriend bought a mattress at bobs across the street and went to Gardner white to see if we could have done any better. In Gardner whites eyes me and my girlfriend are a young couple with cash in hand ready to buy a mattress. We walked in and were met with a sales associate (I don’t recall his name), he was a nice guy and brought us over to the mattresses. The first thing he does is set us on a $10,000+ mattresses and we said it was too high of a price. He said okay no problem and brought us to the next (around half the price), he started talking this mattress up going on about how “celebrities buy this mattress”, “this is our best seller on the floor” which is what he said about the $10,000+ mattresses and he was just using TERRIBLE sales tactics. What got me and my girlfriend is that he then said “is money an issue” in a bit of a snotty/uppity tone. Which for a young couple the obvious answer should be yes we are not looking to spend $10,000+ on a mattress. We told him our budget and he brought us to our next mattress. We lay down and he just walked away, he came back with another guy their “mattress professional” and said “you guys didn’t like anything I showed you here’s our mattress professional” and just pawned us off to him. Our complaint for the last mattress is that it was too plush. The mattress professional took us to another and then just walked away and didn’t return. With us already buying a mattress at bobs we didn’t need to stay in there much longer and decided to leave. Now did we waste their time a little bit? Yes but no because if we found something else we liked at Gardner white we would’ve brought our business there. Only leaving a bad review because of the customer service we got was basically a turn off from mattress shopping and the absolutely terrible sales tactics the first guy tried to use. Come on guy do you really think I’m gonna want to buy a mattress because celebrities buy it and I get a $300 gift card?? Do better.
