Technician claimed he couldn’t access my backyard where my issue was. There’s no reason why he couldn’t get into my backyard. I was home. He could’ve rang the doorbell. He could’ve texted me. In fact, I came home, pulled in the driveway while he was sitting in front of my house when he first arrived. He could’ve asked me then. He didn’t spray like he said he was going to due to inclement weather however, there was no inclement weather. Not happy with this company.

Guy didn't do half of what we paid for. Didn't refill my bait boxes, didn't replace mosquito traps as we were promised sat in my driveway for 45 minutes in his phone. He didn't do even ten minutes of work. The text from my husband: He arrived at 3 o’clock got out of the truck at 3:10 or 315 sprayed foundation for three minutes back in Truck for another five minutes sprinkled some granular thing by the back patio for two or three minutes, back in Truck. He’s been here for 35 minutes so far and it’s only done five minutes of work and is still sitting in his truck.

This company operates with incessant door-to-door practices despite my neighborhood having no soliciting signs, my house having a no soliciting sign, and just in case my doorbell having a sticker right under the button saying "no soliciting". Once they've bypassed all those notices, a simple "no thank you" doesn't quite register. It usually takes 2-3+ more before they give up. They've visited at least 3 times in just as many weeks, all equally oblivious and disrespectful. Several neighbors have had the same complaints citing frequency, aggressiveness, and disrespect.
A company that operates like that will never get a second look from me. I can't imagine how pushy they are once they finally get your contact information.

The sales persons are great, friendly, seemed very knowledgeable and willing to treat my yard thoroughly. The technicians had no idea what my I agreed to for my first treatment and even acknowledged that there is a disconnect from what I was sold to vs how they were going to treat my property. They showed up late, did not treat my property in any way shape or form in the way the sales person described then when confronted on it still didn’t treat it correctly. Beyond disappointed. I thought I would’ve been able to rely on this company and was looking forward to it. Even with two technicians, my property is a decent size and less than 10 mins on my property isn’t long enough. I watched them the whole time, unbeknownst to them, and was shocked honestly.

I signed up with Active Pest Control specifically for mosquito control because their pricing was lower than some of the other companies I had used in the past. Unfortunately, I learned that cheaper is not always better.
I have used other mosquito control companies over the years, and while they cost a little more, they were effective. With Active Pest Control, the mosquito problem at my property became worse than it has ever been. Spending time outside became difficult because of the number of mosquitoes.
I contacted the company multiple times about the issue and was given two additional re-sprays, but neither made a noticeable improvement. Despite repeated treatments, the problem was never resolved.
When I decided to cancel due to the lack of results, the experience became even more frustrating. I was given the runaround, the cancellation process was difficult, and the company refused to release me from the agreement without charging a $199 early termination fee—even though the service was not accomplishing the primary reason I hired them.
I understand that pest control results can vary from property to property, but in my case the treatments were ineffective despite multiple attempts to correct the issue. The combination of poor results and a difficult cancellation process left me extremely disappointed.
I’m sharing my experience so that other homeowners can make an informed decision. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Active Pest Control for mosquito control services.

Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?
If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.
How much does professional pest control cost?
Our professional pest control plans start as low as $49 to $55 per month for our Basic plan, depending on your location. We offer three primary tiers—Basic, Pro, and Premium—designed to fit different levels of protection needs and budgets.
Do you offer same-day pest control services?
Yes, depending on current technician availability. If you call before noon, we can often provide same-day service for urgent pest issues.
How soon can a technician come out for an emergency?
We strive for 24 to 48-hour response times. For emergencies like a yellow jacket nest or indoor roach sightings, we prioritize your call in our daily schedule.
Do you spray both the inside and outside of the house?
Yes, standard service covers both. We focus on the exterior to stop pests at the source and treat the interior (baseboards/under sinks) to eliminate any that have already entered.
What areas are included in a "perimeter" treatment?
A perimeter treatment covers 3 feet up the foundation and 3 feet out into the yard. We also treat windowsills, door frames, and eaves.
How do I get rid of an ant infestation in my kitchen?
To stop ants, we use "transferable" baits. Workers carry the bait back to the queen, killing the entire colony rather than just the ants you see on the counter.
What is the best treatment for German cockroaches?
German roaches require a combination of baiting, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and sanitation. They are resilient, so 2–3 follow-up visits are often required for total elimination.
Is pest control safe for children and infants?
Yes, we prioritize family-safe applications. By focusing on the exterior and using low-toxicity indoor treatments, we minimize exposure. We recommend keeping children out of treated areas for 30–60 minutes until dry.
What is your "Pest-Free Guarantee"?
Our guarantee means if the pests return between scheduled visits, we return for free. We stay until the problem is solved.
Do you offer free re-treatments?
Yes, all of our recurring plans include unlimited free re-treatments for covered pests.
Why am I still seeing bugs after my first service?
This is the "flush out" period. The treatment is driving pests out of their hiding spots. They will die off shortly after coming into contact with the product.
Why is the pest problem getting worse?
This usually happens with ants and roaches as they are attracted to our baits. This "surge" is a sign that the colony is actively feeding on the treatment.
How can I tell if a treatment was successful?
Success is measured by a steady decrease in sightings and finding dead insects rather than live ones.
Do you guarantee 100% elimination?
We guarantee to control and manage populations to the point where they do not infest your living space. No one can stop every single bug from ever entering, but we ensure they don't stay.
