Seems like the selection is less of the name brand type stuff and more generic lately. More than other places. The people that have been there are knowledgeable, the newer ones not so much but still seem ok. I can usually get what I want.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Lowe’s window installation, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend Lowe’s for a home improvement project based on what I experienced.
I ordered windows through Lowe’s and purchased their installation package back in May. At the time, the sales representative told me that I would receive a discount because I immediately signed up for the contractor/onsite consultation service. However, that discount was never applied, and I ended up paying the full amount.
Then the real nightmare began.
Lowe’s ordered the wrong bay window. I had to make multiple appointments and calls just to get the incorrect window picked up and returned so that the correct one could be ordered.
Since then, it has been two months with virtually no communication or resolution. I have made nearly 10 phone calls to different Lowe’s employees, and each time I have had to explain the situation again. Nobody seems to know what is happening or who is responsible for resolving it. The original sales representative has also disappeared and is no longer responding.
Meanwhile, the building permit Lowe’s pulled for the project is approaching expiration, which creates another unnecessary problem and could potentially cause additional delays and costs.
What is most frustrating is not simply that a mistake was made—mistakes happen. It is the complete lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability afterward. I should not have to spend hours repeatedly calling different departments just to find out the status of an order that I already paid for months ago.
At this point, I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. For anyone considering Lowe’s for windows or other major home improvement projects, I strongly recommend making sure you understand exactly who will be responsible for your project and what happens if something goes wrong.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lowe’s for a major home improvement project.

I have a broken foot and these suckers make you walk all the way to a certain entrance, but you have to exit through the middle of the store so I can’t enter through the middle of the store. Absolutely ridiculous.
People are rude, not worth going to not to mention you get scrutinized at the self checkout. I just don’t recommend the store.
Frequently Asked Questions About Lowe's Home Improvement
How do I find a product online?

For your protection, only the cardholder or an authorized user of the credit card may pick up the order.
How do I return or exchange an item?
Most (but not all) items can be returned within 90 days. If you bought something from Lowes.com, you can start a return online in your Order History before shipping it back to us. How do I place an order with a tax-exempt account?

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
