  Lazy workers, no one "on call", severe lack of communication to its customers. And on top of everything, they prioritize who gets power back first based on who from the company has been impacted. Ann Arbor, we need to free ourselves from this awful company please vote in local elections!!

  I Guess I will add to the bandwagon and say that my power has been out longer and more often than anywhere I've lived in my life with DTE. We see the news of the CEO of DTE making checks for himself of record amounts every year while absolutely nothing observable has been done to improve any part of the infrastructure that is failing constantly. As consumers, my wife and I feel lied to and extremely vulnerable as we're preparing to have a family. DTE is a good part of why we are leaving Michigan, we just don't trust that they are keeping the health of our family in mind with their business decisions. Anyone who invests in this company should feel ashamed of themselves.

  I don't know where to begin. This is absolutely the worst and most shady company in America. My problems first started when I moved into the area where DTE is the provider about a year ago. I put my credit card on auto pay and they charged my the full amount twice, and my credit card rightfully declined the second purchase. They said since my payment method failed I had to pay with cash at a center in Detroit (1 hr from my apartment) once a month for a year. I had to call up the representatives twice and waste two hours and one month before they allowed me to pay with card. Since then it seems like every time there is a moderate rain storm the power is lost and takes almost a day or longer to restore. I've had to throw away thousands of dollars worth of meat and dairy on my limited student budget in the course of one year. I'm guessing it's because I live in a majority-minority apart complex. All of the predominantly wealthy/white business areas like lululemon and stupid overpriced art stores a mile down the road seldom if ever lose power, and if they do it's for a few hours. DTE should be shut down for violating the civil rights act and replaced by a company that actually cares.

  Awful company. Forces customers to enter into their monopoly, what other choice do you have? That’s right, nothing!!! Classic “Gotcha!” By DTE. Power restoration estimates? Never accurate! Abysmal customer service. 3 separate summer storms have caused multiple day outages. How do you expect people to live like that? The amount of emotional and financial distress that is forced upon paying customers is disgusting. This “power” company needs sued, class-action, something to get them to actually do a job worth paying for. Wish I could rate 0 stars or negative, but one star will have to do!
