- CHCheryl HerneApr 11, 20263.0I’ve had a generally positive experience with Extra Space Storage in Wells when it comes to customer service—Suzanne is responsive, helpful, and great to work with when issues come up. However, the fees and rate increases are something to seriously consider before renting here. When my credit card was declined on one of my two units, I was hit with a $120 pre-foreclosure fee after 39 days, plus $120 in late fees ($60 after 30 days and another $60 just 9 days later). There’s also a 20% late fee if you’re more than 5 days overdue, which adds up quickly. On top of that, my monthly rate for two units has nearly doubled over the past three years. Good customer service—but the pricing and penalties feel excessive. Just make sure you understand the fee structure going in.
