First, let me state that this is a Customer Service complaint rather than a Product complaint.
I normally wouldn’t leave a 1 Star review due to the impact it can have on a business but I feel this information needs to be shared.
After purchasing a pool a few years ago, we continued to use PoolTech for our seasonal openings and closings. This was mainly due to them convincing us that certain warranties could be voided if we were serviced by anyone else (not true). They contacted us every year around February to let us know that we were considered “VIP customers” and that they had an offer for discounted Pool chemicals and supplies for the upcoming season. Obviously this was just a money grab for them during the slow time of year. They also allowed us to book our opening date at this time in order to get date preferences over non VIP customers. Here’s where it all falls apart…
You CANNOT book an opening date without paying for your upcoming seasons chemicals in February (not an option at all). So basically, the so called “VIP service” does nothing except put money in their account during the winter months. Ok, this may seem like a good business plan for them right? So I pay for the chemicals every year, so that I can get preference for opening dates in the spring. Every year I have scheduling issues after I pick my preferred opening date. Everything from the dates being changed, openings occurring at 6-7pm in the evening and best of all, not showing up at all. I constantly have to call them when it gets close to 5pm on opening day and I haven’t heard from anyone all day. Many times I have been told that I am still on the schedule for that day and someone will call me back to give me an estimated time for arrival. I never get a call and conveniently they close at 5pm and phones are not answered. No tech communication and outright lies about getting back to me. So I am left waiting, coordinating care for dogs so that the techs can safely open my pool with no complications.
So, after waiting until they open on the next business day to discuss how and why things didn’t happen the way they were explained, I finally am told that they can reschedule me at a later date. How convenient, I get bumped because they are too busy to open my “VIP”scheduled opening (which I have already paid over $500 for chemicals in order to secure this date). Now I am left with an opening date at their convenience and no other option of getting anyone else to open any sooner due to short notice. They know that they have me at their mercy in this situation. I have paid them for my supplies in order to get on their schedule and now I have to wait for them because it’s too late to get anyone else. Every year, same story.
I cannot state enough how poor the customer service is with PoolTech. They do not care one bit about the customers who have invested huge amounts of money for their products and services. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. You will certainly be disappointed with PoolTech.
