The location, space, people are great. However I went from an initial rate of around $80/month for a 5x10 unit to around $147/month in less than a year. Keep watch on those rates.

I'd like to commend Jonathan Pagel, Extra Space Storage Store Manager, 11850 Parklawn Drive, in Rockville, MD. I have been a long-time customer of Extra Space Storage, as far back as when it was Cube Smart. I started with ten units and have slowly pared down to one large unit. After a final purge I was ready to downsize to a smaller unit. There lay the dilemma. It was difficult to assess what size unit would be appropriate. After much agonizing I decided on a 10 x 10 unit.
Jonathan was so helpful in answering my numerous questions about unit sizes, pricing, and other details. Though he is not located at the facility where I have my unit, he happened to answer my phone call and did not hesitate in the least to assist me. He was so personable, listened attentively to my concerns, and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. He personified quality customer service. Jonathan knows the manager at one of my former storage facilities off of Nicholson Lane, as well as the former store manager at my current location when it was Cube Smart. That familiarity was a plus.
Jonathan reserved the new unit for me, and did a virtual/visual walk with me from my current unit around the hall to the smaller unit, as I wanted to remain on the same floor & close to the elevator. He explained the entire transfer process and emailed me the confirmation within minutes.
Today, while at my current storage facility, I decided to change to a bigger unit, a 10 x 15. Once again I contacted Jonathan and he made the process seamless. All was taken care of with one phone call!
Unfortunately he won't receive credit for the "sale". I hope my public recognition reflects my deep appreciation for his patience and guidance....and for answering that first phone call. The ONLY reason I am not transferring to his facility is the cost factor. If you are looking to move to his location, you will be in excellent hands with Jonathan Pagel!
