I am disappointed with my experience at Extra Space Storage.
While the contract does state that rates may increase after 30 days, when I rented the unit over the phone, I was told that a rate increase would most likely not happen. Shortly after moving in, my monthly rent increased by nearly $100, which was very frustrating.
The bigger issue occurred when I returned to my unit after my belongings had been in storage for about 6 months and found a dead baby mouse (vermin) on one of my rugs. This was extremely concerning. I immediately spoke with management and was asked to go through all of my belongings to determine whether anything else had been affected, creating yet another inconvenience. If going through all my belongings then store them back into the same environment is a solution is insane.
The manager asked me to email a photo of the mouse and stated that he would look into a possible rate adjustment and provide information about when an exterminator would service the unit. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up call, email, or update regarding either issue.
Another concern is that rate increase notices are sent through the mail. These notices can easily be overlooked, discarded, or missed, especially when customers are not regularly expecting important account changes by mail.
Despite these issues, we chose to remain with the facility after the rate increase. However, the lack of communication, the vermin concern, and the significant rent increase have made this a very disappointing experience.

David the manager dose have great customer service but very money hungry it wasn’t one month free he made me pay for the first month and kept adding extra stuff on my payment make sure you go in there with an adult who know more if this your first time renting a storage and also they add extra payments when they know your about to move your things out just so you can spend extra money save your time and go to different location
