  The online process to rent the unit was great. However, my experience after completing the rental was very frustrating. Because I rented the unit around 7 p.m., I called the 800 number beforehand to make sure I would be able to access the unit and obtain the lock at the same time. I specifically asked the representative several times if I would have any issues because I had a U-Haul that I needed to return shortly afterward. I was assured that I should not stress and that someone would be available to assist me. When I arrived, the main office was closed, and I was confused by the map trying to locate my unit. Once I finally found it, there was no lock inside the unit. Since I had already unloaded my belongings, I had to leave to return the U-Haul. I called the 800 number again and explained the situation. The representative instructed me to check another unit for a lock. When I returned, that unit also did not have one. I called again, completely frustrated at this point, and the next representative gave me three different units to check before I finally found a lock. By then, I was extremely unhappy with the experience. The lack of clear instructions and having to search multiple units for a lock was very inconvenient, especially after I had specifically called ahead to make sure there would be no issues. I also noticed the following day that the exit gate was wide open again, and no security code was required to enter or leave the property. That is concerning and does not give me much confidence in the security of the facility or my belongings. The online rental process was excellent, but the actual move-in experience and security concerns need significant improvement.

  From the first time I signed up until the last day I moved my items from storage, the staff has been excellent. They consistently provide quality customer support and service. They go above and beyond in helping you find the appropriate unit size at an affordable cost. Someone is always available to answer any questions or concerns you have and they are accommodating and welcoming. In addition I find all the staff there professional and understanding. From locks to boxes, they anticipate your needs and meet them. I have had other storage units but none of the others measure up. They are a model operators. If you are in the market for a storage facility whose staff is superb. I highly recommend this location. You will not be disappointed

  Adam was absolutely fantastic at getting our monthly rate down significantly. All I did was ask!! He is super nice and very efficient. He got this done within a couple hours. I always have a good experience when dealing with anyone at Extra Space Storage. Adam is obviously the ultimate in caring for his customer's needs and he is absolutely in the right position for customer service. He deserves a promotion or a big bonus!!! Also, I want to send a big shout out and THANK YOU to whoever Adam talked to who helped make this happen! Thank you again, Adam!!

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent experience with Extra Space Storage in Hanover, Maryland! The facility is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and feels very secure. There is plenty of lighting throughout the property, making it easy to access your unit any time of day. The temperature-controlled units are a huge plus for protecting valuable belongings, and the wide drive aisles make loading and unloading simple. If you’re looking for a safe, convenient, and professionally managed storage facility, I highly recommend Extra Space Storage in Hanover!

  I had a great experience with Extra Space Storage on Ridge Road in Hanover, MD, thanks to Adam. Adam initially assisted me over the phone and was very helpful throughout the process. On the day I was moving my belongings into storage, I realized I didn’t have the access code for my unit. I called the office and was told I needed to come in, but they closed at 6:00 p.m. and it was already 5:49 p.m. My movers were already packing, so I was extremely worried. One staff member told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to wait until the next day. Thankfully, Adam stepped in and volunteered to stay after hours to make sure I could access my unit. When I arrived, he verified my ID, personally showed me around the facility, and took me to my storage unit. His professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond turned a very stressful situation into a positive experience. Adam provided outstanding customer service, and I truly appreciate everything he did. Employees like him make all the difference. Thank you, Adam!
