I was put on the 3rd floor and the elevator has been broken on and off for about 2 months. Every time I’ve come it’s broken and I have to carry anything up and down 3 flights of stairs.
I asked about a discount or switching to a unit on a lower floor and they said it would be more expensive to move and gave me a 1 time credit of $50. They said it should be fixed within a week. It’s now been 2 months and the excuse we’ve gotten is that it’s “out of our hands at this point.” Then give me a steep discount until it’s fixed because this is ridiculous.
I got the storage unit so that I didn’t have to carry my equipment up and down 3 flights of stairs in my apartment and here I am having to deal with this anyway. Paying $85 a month for unreliable access to my things and basically told “sorry there’s nothing we can do”…. Right. I understand things happen and maintenance is expected, but during that time I should AT LEAST be given a pretty decent discounted rate for all the trouble and inconvenience.
I finally had enough and moved out of my unit (again…. Carrying everything up and down 3 flights of stairs when I shouldn’t have to). Additionally discovered a very large amount of mouse droppings all over my unit. Here and there whatever, but this was quite a bit…. Building management overall needs to be significantly better and more reasonable.
