  We looked for expertise over several years to fix a problem with smoke cycling into the house when we lit our fireplaces. We couldn't find anyone that gave us confidence that they understood the problem or a solution until we spoke to Billy Sweet Chimney Sweep. The issue was quickly diagnosed (improper design by architect and poor implementation by builder). BSCS recommended we install a wood burning insert on the first floor and, unfortunately, seal the improperly built lower level fireplace. The first floor fireplace was non standard and shallow. BSCS rebuilt the firebox, installed the insert and a new stainless steel flue. The team was expert, friendly and left the house spotless, even after much demolition work. I can strongly recommend this company.

  The two men were very courteous, and explained everything, and kept my place clean. If anything might have been better, it would have been for them to be clearer on my options going forward, in terms of dried mortar falling on the floor from chimney. Vague references were made about hiring someone to repoint, but this was also discouraged because of the time and cost this would involve, but greater specificity about how such work could be accomplished was not clear, but he did say that the work entailed would be outside of the work your company could accomplish. Overall, though, I was satisfied with the work they did.

  I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. From my very first phone call to the completion of the work, every interaction exceeded my expectations. Kim in the office was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. She took the time to explain the services they provide, clearly outlined the service call fee, and even contacted me when an earlier appointment became available. Her kindness and communication made the entire process easy from the very beginning. Jay and Fernando arrived early and were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the visit. They were originally scheduled to inspect and clean my furnace flue, but during the inspection they discovered that it was severely corroded and needed to be replaced as soon as possible. As a single mom, hearing that news was overwhelming. It meant trying to arrange time away from work, finding coverage, getting approval for additional time off, and coordinating yet another service appointment. Instead of simply telling me what needed to be done and leaving, Jay and Fernando went above and beyond. They picked up the necessary parts, returned quickly, and completed the replacement the very same day. Their willingness to help relieved a tremendous amount of stress, and I am incredibly grateful for their kindness and professionalism. The quality of their work was outstanding. They installed a beautiful new flue, made sure everything was done correctly, and left the area cleaner than they found it. It is clear they take great pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. This company came highly recommended by the energy company I am working with. Even though they are based in Massachusetts, they were happy to travel to New Hampshire when I could have chosen any number of local companies. That recommendation meant a great deal to me, and now I completely understand why they earned it. Honest, knowledgeable, dependable, and genuinely caring companies can be hard to find. This is one of them. I would give them ten stars if I could, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a chimney service they can trust. Thank you, Kim, Jay, and Fernando, for turning what could have been a very stressful situation into such a positive experience. Your kindness and exceptional service will not be forgotten.
