- KDKristine DoyleOct 1, 20265.0We had such a great experience! Thank you, Kim, for being so patient with us while we took forever to pick out our new liner 😂 We really appreciated all the help and advice along the way. You never made us feel rushed or pressured, which made taking our time and figuring out what we really wanted so much easier. Everyone on your team was so friendly and easy to work with from start to finish. We absolutely LOVE our new liner and how our pool looks! We’re so glad we took the time to get it right, and even happier to have found a local pool store we feel comfortable coming back to. 💙 Now we just need summer to hurry up and get here! 😂💙 *Island Clouds all over liner
- RProger pareSep 30, 20265.0We had been a customer of another pool company for a very long time and felt we were not getting the service we had been accustomed to. We had a leak that needed repair so we decided to go to Crystal Pool. We were greeted by friendly staff members and immediately put on the schedule for repair. The day of the repair we mentioned to the techs we encountered another issue and new techs arrived the next day to repair our liner. We have also had Crystal Pool replace our old liner; old liner taken out, new liner installed, water filled and then pool was closed all in one day. Techs were professional, informative, friendly. Kim and Crystal Pool have gone above and beyond to answer all our questions and concerns and we are looking forward to many years of service with them.

- JCJ CampbellSep 15, 20265.0I am new in the last few months to owning saltwater pool, so I am grateful to Crystal and Spa for helping me with not just what I need but understanding why I need certain additives and the procedures. This allowed me to enjoy the process. Halle and everyone else I've spoken with have been great! Jack Campbell
Frequently Asked Questions About Crystal Pool and Spa
How often should I test my pool water?
We recommend testing your pool water at least once per week during swimming season. For pools with high usage or after heavy rainfall, more frequent testing is advised to maintain proper chemical balance.
What should my pool's ideal chemical levels be?
For optimal pool health, maintain these chemical levels: chlorine at 1-3 ppm, pH between 7.2-7.6, alkalinity from 80-120 ppm, and calcium hardness between 200-400 ppm. Proper balance prevents issues like cloudiness, algae growth, and equipment damage.
How often should I run my pool pump?
During peak season, operate your pool pump for 8-12 hours daily. This ensures adequate circulation and filtration, maintaining clean and clear water.
Why is my pool water cloudy?
Cloudy pool water often results from inadequate circulation, insufficient sanitizer, elevated pH, or a clogged filter. Addressing these factors typically resolves the issue.
How often should I clean or backwash my pool filter?
Clean or backwash your filter when the pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI above normal. Sand and DE filters usually need backwashing every few weeks, while cartridge filters require cleaning every 4-6 weeks.
What causes algae, and how can I prevent it?
Algae thrives when chlorine levels are low or water circulation is poor. Prevent growth by maintaining proper sanitizer levels, brushing the pool weekly, and ensuring good water flow.
How often should I shock my pool?
Shock your pool every 1-2 weeks, and after events like heavy rain, large gatherings, or signs of algae. This super-chlorination helps maintain water quality.
Do I need to brush my pool even if I have an automatic cleaner?
Yes, brushing is necessary even with an automatic cleaner. While cleaners handle debris, they can't scrub walls or corners effectively. Weekly brushing prevents algae buildup and maintains clean surfaces.
How can I reduce chlorine smell or irritation?
A strong chlorine odor often indicates insufficient free chlorine. Shock the pool and maintain proper levels to eliminate the smell and reduce irritation caused by combined chloramines.
How often should I check my pool equipment?
Conduct weekly inspections of pumps, filters, heaters, and skimmers. Look for leaks, clogs, unusual noises, or reduced water flow. Regular checks prevent costly repairs and ensure efficient system operation.
