I had the most bizarre thing occur here, and I'm still processing everything.
On mother's day, 5/10/26, I came out to buy some plants, and a gallon of paint for my guest bath. I brought my husband, and our little pomeranian. In the paint section, as I'm holding up a swatch to another swatch on the wall to compare colors, a small elderly woman snuck around me and pet my dog very quickly, he was sitting at my feet and being a very good boy, everything was fine, but she surprised me and I bent down and very kindly said "oh, you really should ask before petting someone's dog"... little did I know I had just done something so unspeakable to this person, I would have picked up my dog and left the store that moment if I had known that those calm words spoken without any ill intent would merit the following.
This woman stood up, pearl clutching her chest and loudly exclaimed "WHOA!! WELL, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY THEN!"
She then stepped out from my left side, then directly behind me, I did not see the next motion coming at all. She placed her right foot on the right of me, in the less than one foot of space between me and the wall, she got low and braced her left arm to ram into me with all of her tiny might. She ACTUALLY full body slammed into me, her left arm totally encapsulated in an itchy ace bandage and spotted with the bloody sores lying therein underneath. She hit me with everything she had, at 10inches shorter than me and nearly 100lbs less than myself. She immediately bounced off of me, my feet never budged from their space, she hit me and then her little body slammed into the paint swatch wall, she clawed at the wall to not fall down it and to right herself.
I disassociated for a moment, looking at my husband's face of horror, I said "what? Is this actually happening? What was that?" I didn't move for many moments, the woman dusted herself off and began walking away from me and looking at the paint swatches on the wall VERY casually and pretending like nothing occurred at all....
I turned and saw no one at the paint counter, so I called to the visible employees at the customer service area and let them know what happened. Suddenly the woman began screaming "ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO MAKE A BIG STINK ABOUT THIS, I BARELY TOUCHED YOU!!!". The employees there called the assistant manager on duty, a slim man with a long beard. The woman followed us in circles, attempting to get in our faces, calling us every name under the sun. When it didn't work with me, she turned on my husband, he thankfully was as calm as I and told her "this isn't working for you, walk away".
The asst. manager was finally able to ask her to walk away from us, which she never did, we had to again flee from the immediately area and hope she would stop actively seeking our space for further harassment and assault.
The asst. manager never asked her to leave, NEVER asked for her information, never attempted to pull any possible security footage, she again admitted TO HIS FACE that she did hit me but it "wasn't that hard"... I asked if they called the police yet, because I wished to... he told me that if that was my choice I would need to leave and do that. He claimed there were zero cameras in the area, ok, but he never seemed to care about anyone safety at all, he wanted us quiet.
The woman spent the next 10+minutes getting paint and wandering around the front waiting for us, we told the manager we felt unsafe and would retreat to the back and that we would wait for her to leave.
After 10+ minutes a different employee came to us and told us she was gone. We went back to the paint area to get a gallon mixed of what we initially were there to purchase, then out to the plant area to checkout there since we parked right next to that entrance.
We spent at least 35 minutes from the time we were told she had exited, THEN a 20min video in my car to document, and then when we left... she followed us out. We had to lose her in the streets... called corp and never heard back.
Thanks, I don't feel safe here anymore. I'd rather drive 20more minutes away to home depot.
