Working with Johnnie and Levi with RPM Construction was simply an excellent experience. When we first met Johnnie he was great to work with for the planning of the project and was realistic about what the time frame would be to get started. In the area, there is often a long wait for a pool to get started, but Johnnie did not try and give any false estimates. He was honest, and his plan seemed fair and straightforward.
When it was time for construction, Johnnie and his crew were incredibly efficient. A lot of planning was done prior to starting the project, and this paid dividends with efficiency. I had a lot of custom underground conduit required for the lighting and A/V setup and Johnnie did it all perfectly. You hear nightmares about working with contractors, and that you never know when they will actually be on site to work. Not with Johnnie. Weather permitting, he and his crew were there, working hard, and getting the job done. Frankly the only thing that slowed their work was waiting for our general contractor that was building the pool house to have his fittings poured. If that hadn't slowed the project down, we probably would have had a pool complete and a deck finished within 3-4 weeks of starting. Absolutely amazing. Our project was NOT simple (large retaining wall, lots of drainage to manage, the aforementioned conduit runs), and it would have been done FAST if we hadn't had to wait for the other contractor we worked with.
Once Johnnie was done with the bulk of our project, we saw how spoiled we were once we started working with the other folks on the project. Waiting months for a custom concrete block planter to be put in, and a pool house. It wasn't until about 15 months later that Johnnie came back to put the finishing touches on our backyard, and again, he was efficient and no nonsense. In that time we got to enjoy the high quality pool and it has performed flawlessly.
My backyard is an incredible oasis from the craziness of life, and it wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of Johnnie, Levi and the crew. It's always easy to get in touch with Johnnie or Levi and they have been a great pleasure to work with. I can't recommend them highly enough!

What a great experience we had with Johnnie in designing and building our pool. He gave us great ideas not only on the pool but on the other things we were doing around the pool. He was easy to communicate with and reliable in doing what he said he would do and that means a lot. RPM is the only way to go!

Johnnie and his crew were great. They built us a beautiful pool. He is very reasonably priced. He kept us informed through out the whole process. He was very hands on and was there working everyday. I never had to call and ask him where he was. He listened to our wishes and built us the pool we asked for. He and his crew were very polite and repectful of our property. Always willing to answer our questions and concerns.

RPM has been in our neighborhood working at several homes all summer. I watched the crew install a neighbor's pool and decided to have them come and discuss installation at our home.
Johnnie, the owner answered all of my questions, gave us a quote and the time frame on the wait and completion time.
He and his crew showed up every day. They started early and stayed until usually dusk. They always made sure the work area was clean and ready to go the next day. The owner is working along side with his crew, which to me shows he cares about his business. They work as a team. Jonnie was very patient when it came time to showing how the equipment works.
We are looking forward to many years of outdoor activities around the pool. I think my pool looks fabulous.
Frequently Asked Questions About Residential Pool Masters
How long does it take to install a fiberglass pool?
Fiberglass pool installation typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from excavation to completion, depending on site conditions and permitting. The process includes careful planning, permit acquisition, excavation, installation, plumbing, backfilling, and decking work. At RPM Construction & Pools, we handle all phases including permit coordination for smooth project completion in Evansville.
What are the most common signs of a pool leak?
Common signs include water loss exceeding normal evaporation (more than 1/4 inch daily), wet spots around the pool, cracks in the shell or deck, and increased chemical usage. At RPM Construction & Pools, our leak detection services identify the source and provide structural or equipment repairs to restore your pool's integrity.
Does a new pool increase home value in Evansville?
Yes, a professionally installed pool can enhance home value and appeal, especially in markets where outdoor living is desirable. Custom pool construction creates functional recreational spaces that attract buyers. At RPM Construction & Pools, we design pools that complement your property and lifestyle for long-term investment.
What's the difference between pool resurfacing and renovation?
Resurfacing replaces the interior finish of the pool to repair damage or update appearance, while renovation involves comprehensive updates including modern features, equipment upgrades, and aesthetic enhancements. RPM Construction & Pools offers complete pool renovation services to transform existing pools with improved functionality and contemporary design.
When should I replace my pool liner?
Pool liners typically need replacement every 7 to 12 years, or sooner if you notice fading, wrinkles, tears, or frequent leaks. Regular inspections help identify wear before major damage occurs. At RPM Construction & Pools, we provide professional pool liner replacement as part of our comprehensive repair services.
What types of decorative concrete work best for pool decks?
Stamped concrete, colored concrete, and specialty finishes are popular for pool decks because they offer durability, slip resistance, and aesthetic appeal. These options handle moisture and temperature changes well. At RPM Construction & Pools, we install decorative concrete that enhances safety and complements your outdoor living space.
How often should pool equipment be serviced or replaced?
Pool pumps and filters should be serviced annually and typically last 8 to 15 years, while heaters may need replacement every 10 to 15 years depending on usage. Regular maintenance extends equipment life and ensures optimal operation. RPM Construction & Pools provides professional installation and replacement of all pool equipment for efficient performance.
Can you add a waterfall to an existing pool?
Yes, waterfalls can be added to existing pools as part of outdoor remodeling or renovation projects. Installation involves integrating plumbing, pumps, and decorative elements into your current setup. At RPM Construction & Pools, we design and install custom waterfall features that enhance both aesthetics and functionality.
What permits are required for pool construction in Indiana?
Indiana pool construction typically requires building permits, electrical permits, and sometimes zoning or setback approvals depending on local regulations. Permit requirements vary by municipality. At RPM Construction & Pools, we handle permit acquisition as part of our custom pool installation process to ensure full compliance in Evansville and surrounding areas.
Why is chemical balancing important for pool maintenance?
Proper chemical balancing prevents algae growth, protects pool surfaces and equipment, and ensures safe swimming conditions by maintaining pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels. Imbalanced water can cause skin irritation and costly damage. RPM Construction & Pools offers regular maintenance services including chemical balancing to keep your pool in optimal condition year-round.
What's involved in seasonal pool opening and closing?
Opening includes removing covers, reconnecting equipment, balancing chemicals, and inspecting for damage, while closing involves draining lines, winterizing equipment, and securing covers. These steps protect your pool during off-season months. At RPM Construction & Pools, our seasonal services ensure your pool is ready for use or properly protected through Indiana winters.
How does custom pool design work from start to finish?
Custom design begins with a consultation to understand your style, budget, and site conditions, followed by design development, permit coordination, and professional installation. At RPM Construction & Pools, we work closely with clients through every phase to create personalized pool installations tailored to individual preferences and property layouts in Evansville.
