Such a great experience! The service was prompt, and the technicians were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I was especially impressed that they noticed wasp nests around my front door before I even had a chance to mention them. They also took the time to explain which pests are most common this time of year and how all the recent rain can impact pest activity. I really appreciated their thoroughness and willingness to answer my questions. Highly recommend!

Sales team deceived me to get a sale. Told me it would take a few days for results regarding Mosquito control. Hired them for a backyard event were having. Called 3 days later because there was ZERO reduction in Mosquitos, customer service apologized and said they shouldn't have said that, it actually takes 3-4weeks. Companies in the past have had results in days, and they also use pet safe products. Not worth doing business with this company due to unethical sales tactics.

Absolutely the worse. They routinely cancel scheduled visits without notifying the customers. Imagine paying $50 a month for a service, blocking your schedule for 4 hours and then having no one show up. That happened 3 times. One separate incident involved a tech claiming to have visit our home, completed a work authorization, sent us an email asking for a review but never showed up. When I called to cancel my subscription, they tried to make me pay a cancellation fee. About a month or so ago, we received an email confirmation on a Monday, confirmed the appointment the day before and then they no showed. This was the 2nd time they've done that....previous techs even said they completed services without even showing up. When I called to check their status of arrival, I was informed that they rescheduled the visit. No phone call, no text message, no email...just a complete disregard of our time and an offer to credit our account for a months service if we did not cancel. When I asked to speak to the supervisors superior, I was informed that the person above her was the CEO of the company. The absolute worse customer service ever. The craziest thing is that supervisor who is 'under the CEO' could not offer any explanation as to why we never received a call, text message or email. She kept saying I understand your frustration and asked if there is anything she could do to keep my business. I asked her to reach out to the operations manager to make the tech come out to fulfill our scheduled and confirmed appointment. She refused to do so, stating that "it is difficult to contact local branches". I asked for the local branch contact email or phone number....nothing. Do not waste your time if you are in the Chicago area. They DO NOT value their customers, respect their customer's time and hold the subscription cancellation fee over your head. Definitely worth reporting to the better business bureau and the consumer protection bureau for deceptive and unfair business practices. I can go on and on but they have wasted enough of my time. I posted a review and received an email from someone by the name of Jasmin. She promised to turn things around. She schedule a tech to come out...he was phenomenal so we agreed to give them a 4th chance.
I removed the review and they reactivated my account. Jasmine scheduled our first routine maintenance visit for June 26, 2026...yesterday. This was the last straw. The tech was supposed to arrive from 4-9p. Around 5:30p, I called to get a better idea of when the tech would arrived. I was told that he canceled the appointment because I was not home though I had been home since 2p. He said he called and sent a text message. Though I missed the call and text message, he NEVER rang my doorbell. So I called and spoke with a manager. They had him come back out. I asked him (Chris) to manage spiders on my deck. He told me that that there's not a lot that they could do for that...even through other techs have sprayed and removed spider webs. I asked him to at least spray. I was just over it at this point. Unbelievable. I sent an email to Jasmin asking her to cancel my service...again. What I waste of time, energy and money.

This is your standard company that starts strong and then fades off after a few months of service with their monthly package you're tied into. I've been a customer for
about a year now.
They constantly schedule appointments on Sundays or holidays and I receive a notification they're coming and they don't... OBVIOUSLY it's a day they're closed so why their auto scheduling continues to do this, I don't know. I even stayed home once and missed and event for them and they didn't show.
I've personally called and spoke with customer service to schedule a date in May and they didn't show.
The technicians are sub par. They show up and don't respond to my text messages about what areas to focus on if I'm not home. They basically just don't do a thorough treatment unless I'm home. On multiple occasions they have not done the basic things I've asked for such as bringing more mosquito boxes or treating specific areas, dusting for spiders, etc. Recently I watched them just walk around and spray my yard and leave and I'd told him what I wanted. I texted him to come back bc he didn't do what I had asked and no response. I called corporate and they gave me the apology saga and rescheduled a new guy to come out and bring the boxes and speak to me in person. He never showed.
I called and requested an new appointment. I got a text that said it was confirmed for a Sunday. I thought maybe they would show bc of all my issues... no they're closed Sunday. Again, why the auto scheduler sends Sundays out is beyond ridiculous.
I continue to get charged even though I haven't had service in over 2 months. I called yesterday to ask what was going on and if I could please have someone out bc it's been over 2 months. I also asked if it was possible to waive my monthly fee for June since their scheduling issues and inadequate technician caused me to miss multiple months. It was a blanket "no." I said thank you and hung up. Stumped that they didn't care to make that right.
I'm the director of a huge medical hospital and know what good customer service and reliability are. This is not it. I might as well treat my own home at this point but I'm sure I'll continue to get charged. They also force you to stay in these 3 yr contracts in order to get a discount on treatment... yet stop doing proper treatment... there's a large cancellation fee as well to get out of contract.
I'd stick with EcoShield or any other company honestly. I'm pretty surprised there are so many good reviews of Aptive. They are not good.

I have enjoyed Aptive but I am confused on today’s service. Typically I receive a text with a time they will be here and did not get that. Usually the text asks if there are any
Problem areas again no contact made. I have been having issues with wasps and hopes the treatment would be able to be done. Typically the yard is also treated and no treatment was completed.

Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?
If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.
How much does professional pest control cost?
Our professional pest control plans start as low as $49 to $55 per month for our Basic plan, depending on your location. We offer three primary tiers—Basic, Pro, and Premium—designed to fit different levels of protection needs and budgets.
Do you offer same-day pest control services?
Yes, depending on current technician availability. If you call before noon, we can often provide same-day service for urgent pest issues.
How soon can a technician come out for an emergency?
We strive for 24 to 48-hour response times. For emergencies like a yellow jacket nest or indoor roach sightings, we prioritize your call in our daily schedule.
Do you spray both the inside and outside of the house?
Yes, standard service covers both. We focus on the exterior to stop pests at the source and treat the interior (baseboards/under sinks) to eliminate any that have already entered.
What areas are included in a "perimeter" treatment?
A perimeter treatment covers 3 feet up the foundation and 3 feet out into the yard. We also treat windowsills, door frames, and eaves.
How do I get rid of an ant infestation in my kitchen?
To stop ants, we use "transferable" baits. Workers carry the bait back to the queen, killing the entire colony rather than just the ants you see on the counter.
What is the best treatment for German cockroaches?
German roaches require a combination of baiting, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and sanitation. They are resilient, so 2–3 follow-up visits are often required for total elimination.
Is pest control safe for children and infants?
Yes, we prioritize family-safe applications. By focusing on the exterior and using low-toxicity indoor treatments, we minimize exposure. We recommend keeping children out of treated areas for 30–60 minutes until dry.
What is your "Pest-Free Guarantee"?
Our guarantee means if the pests return between scheduled visits, we return for free. We stay until the problem is solved.
Do you offer free re-treatments?
Yes, all of our recurring plans include unlimited free re-treatments for covered pests.
Why am I still seeing bugs after my first service?
This is the "flush out" period. The treatment is driving pests out of their hiding spots. They will die off shortly after coming into contact with the product.
Why is the pest problem getting worse?
This usually happens with ants and roaches as they are attracted to our baits. This "surge" is a sign that the colony is actively feeding on the treatment.
How can I tell if a treatment was successful?
Success is measured by a steady decrease in sightings and finding dead insects rather than live ones.
Do you guarantee 100% elimination?
We guarantee to control and manage populations to the point where they do not infest your living space. No one can stop every single bug from ever entering, but we ensure they don't stay.
