  I went into the store with a general idea of what I wanted. I was shown various chairs that fit my requirements and then he explained the small differences before I made my selection. This is my second La-Z-Boy chair.

  Couldn’t have been better. From initial visit to delivery and service was a great experience. Everything promised was met. Purchased a love seat recliner and standard sofa. Had a designer come out and he took measurements and color scheme. We met later at the store to review his suggestions. Everything was very professional.

  Our sales person, Marcus, was helpful without being pushy. He gave us time to look around and gave great insight on sizes that I hadn't thought of. He gently suggested I look at fabrics in case I wanted something other than shown on the floor. His guidance was very appreciated.

  Buyer beware. La-Z-Boy recliners. La-Z-Boy is a nearly century-old brand built around the recliner, and that’s why this has been so disappointing. My grandfather and father each had one. In my family, it was a “you’ve made it” kind of purchase, something solid you relied on. I have serious medical issues. The lift assist matters. My first power lift recliner had ongoing motor and lift problems. I did the video tech sessions, swapped parts, checked wiring, then it failed again. Out of frustration, I threw it out and bought another new one directly from La-Z-Boy. That one arrived with the back that wouldn’t fit the frame. I refused delivery. I saw the wiring anchors ripped out underneath, same as before. A third chair fit, but the heat didn’t work. Underneath, same pulled out anchors. When fully lifting the chair, the wiring went tight and yanked them out again. That’s three chairs with the same basic wiring problem. To me, that looks like a design or assembly issue. I asked La-Z-Boy to fully test the chair. That didn’t happen. On 1/3/25, corporate manager Karen wanted to pick up the chair and refund me, treating me like a difficult customer. That wasn’t acceptable. I want what I paid for, a working chair. I’m only posting now because of serious health issues, but as of now, I still don’t have a properly functioning chair. Even after another replacement back, the heat still doesn’t work. That suggests a deeper electrical issue. For anyone considering a La-Z-Boy power lift, insist on a full lift test and inspect the wiring underneath before accepting. For the price, you deserve better. I paid for a working chair. I still don’t have one. Do better, La-Z-Boy.

  My daughter and I were on a road trip and furniture shopping.Stopped at the Naperville lazy boy. Nice young man greeted us at the door his name was Marcus. I said that will be easy to remember because I have a brother named Marcus. He showed us what was available and told us there was a designer available to come to your house if you wanted. I replied we weren’t from the area and he threw his arms in the air like I don’t know what I said wrong. Asked if all lazy boy furniture places offered it and some other sales person replied they did. Well it was downhill from there. I took a pricing tag out of the plastic to look at dimensions and also was asking how long couch was and Marcus came over grabbed the pricing from me and put it back in the sleeve and says “Who does that” as he walks away. Whether right or wrong he definitely had an attitude. I guess since he wasn’t going to make a sale he wanted nothing to do with us.
