I recently had an extraordinary experience with this location, Ms. Kari was very helpful showing me where my unit was at, cleaned it almost right before I got a chance to move in. They use a very interesting combination of Fabuloso to ensure the storage facility stays smelling great and maintaining an extremely high level of cleanliness. Besides that I also got to meet Ms. Berly who very enthusiastically waved hello to me while I was getting a couple tools from my unit, she also came out to introduce herself and even helped me with a couple of things. Overall it was a very rare experience for a storage facility to have such high levels of client interaction and amazing client experience.

I had my things in a storage unit at the Bradley Rd location for a few months between moves. I thought it was climate controlled. I arrived to unpack and the unit was extremely humid and smelled. I had a Christmas tree skirt that had become very moldy (I had just been in the unit a week or two before). I placed it next to the dumpster at the facility because I didn’t want to drive with the hazard in my car and they came out and told me they’d charge me $50 for leaving it. They said because I didn’t pay for unit insurance it wasn’t their fault and wouldn’t even offer a garbage bag for it. Find somewhere better that will actually provide a safe space for your things or at least let you throw something away they destroyed. Way expensive too.

Let me tell you how ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE can turn a bad experience with a company around! My mother passed. I was left with 60 years of hoarding & disrepair. Between probate, uncooperative siblings, 12 hour days weeding through documents, photographs, bills, 14 hour days as a Private Chef for high profile atheletes & teaching culinary classes at CBG, I was at the end of my rope. Why am I telling you this? Because these days, it REALLY MATTERS. I finally was at the stage to sell & BEGIN moving stuff out. Calling around for storage, over priced, can't talk to a person... its a lot!!! Ended up calling Extra Storage. A man answered, disingenuous, sold me a bill of goods. Square footage I requested but in 3 seperate units with small doors at opposite ends of a HUGE facility, in the WRONG LOCATION (which was crucial)! So here I go, more time I dont have fighting dishonsty with time I dont have & money they dont desrve!! Called back after 5pm. Girl named Kari answered & THANK GOD she was honest & had mercy on A) my situation B) the way I was treated and C) demanded I let her make it right!!! Everything became perfect! Contract in my inbox, amount promised, warp speed execution, map to the unit, door open waiting for movers, lock/keys/codes right there where she said they'd be!!! And TODAY, I called requiring a second unit (my miscalculation). It is truly delightful & a privilege dealing with Kari!!! We went through sizes, what still needed to come out of this house with movers tomorrow on short notice, closing Friday!!! Here's all I can say:
1) Don't deal with people who feel dishonest.
2) Be grateful when you give your hard earned money to someone you can trust & goes the EXTRA MILE!
3) Take time to read/write a review about a GREAT PERSON!
4) Show INCREDIBLE EMPLOYEES you value them with promotions & monetary compensation (and deep 6 the bad ones. Makes YOUR entire company smell bad). AND...
5) I feed alot of Chicago's professional athlete's who value their privacy & folks they can trust. But its a TOUGH business & half of them get traded, STORE THEIR STUFF until they sign, buy a house & settle in. And, I have their ear. You have one hell of an employee in Kari so I took the time to write this review. If they dont treat you right Kari, let me know. You have my digits on file. Ill hire you!!!
