She was so sweet to him and even gave him some candy, which completely turned an upsetting moment into a positive experience. Excellent customer service and such a kind person — thank you!
- EYEdith M YoungSep 24, 20261.0I just called to ask about certain trees and gave the exact instructions the arborist from the village gave me. I was treated as if I was an imbecile and never received so much attitude from a salesperson in my life. I said I didn’t know anything about trees and was only relaying the information given to me. Instead of communicating in a professional way, I was met with hostility and the attitude of a teenager. Genie/jeannie was the person I spoke to and when I asked for her manager, he continued to treat me with disrespect and annoyance. I told them both I wasn’t trying to give them a hard time but I genuinely didn’t know anything about trees. I was told to look it up on Google and to call back the village. They both kept talking over me so I couldn’t get a word in edgewise. The manager ended up hanging up on me. I am still in disbelief. Please do better and treat everyone like they’re human — even those who don’t know anything about trees — with decency and respect instead of insolence and arrogance. I just called another nursery in Northbrook called Reds. They were so kind, patient and helpful. I read the instructions from the arborist just like I did when I called Lurvey and wasn’t told I didn’t make any sense or some kind of idiot. They had more trees available on the short list I had from the village’s arborist, and they’re 50% off. Save yourself the time and energy and go straight to Reds. Goodness, I still can’t believe how much Lurvey went out of their way to give me a hard time. Truly disheartening and sad.
