THIS PLACE DOESN’T TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY ANYMORE.
This place used to be Honor Storage, a modest, neighborhood storage facility where tenants actually mattered. Since Storage Post Self Storage bought the property, some things have improved, but other important issues have been completely neglected. As a tenant who has rented here for many years, I now feel like we are nothing more than a number.
My biggest concern is safety. TWICE, we have made the staff aware that a man is living in Unit 206. This has been going on for at least two months. The last time I brought it up, I was told that they “need to catch the guy in there.” That makes absolutely no sense to me. You have cameras throughout the facility, so why are they there if they aren't being used to address situations like this? Are they just for show?
We go to the facility at different and random times, and he is consistently there, especially after 6:30 p.m. As I am writing this review, it is Monday, August 17, at 6:56 p.m., and the man is currently inside Unit 206. Management can check the cameras and verify this. The door to the unit is halfway open because he is inside. You can hear him using his cell phone and watching videos.
Sometimes, there is even a strong smell of alcohol coming from the unit. This is not something I think tenants should have to deal with.
My wife used to feel completely comfortable going to the storage unit by herself or with our kids. Now, she and the kids no longer feel safe doing that. And honestly, I don't blame them. When you have a man living in a storage unit, sometimes drinking inside, you simply don't know what could happen. This is a serious safety concern, and management should not wait for something to happen before taking action. Or are you really waiting for something to happen?
On top of that, the elevator has now been broken for almost a month. People rent storage units because they often have heavy belongings. Having to carry everything up and down the stairs for weeks is completely unacceptable.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the company has no problem enforcing their own rules when it comes to collecting money. And that's perfectly fine, as long as they also keep up with their responsibilities, including security, safety, and maintaining the facility. As tenants, we should be able to expect both.
After many years as a tenant, I am seriously considering taking my business somewhere else. It's disappointing to see what used to be a neighborhood storage facility become something that feels increasingly corporate and impersonal, where tenants are treated like numbers.
If you are considering renting here, I would strongly encourage you to think about these issues first. And to management and corporate: please start taking your tenants' safety and concerns seriously.

The only elevator has been down for over a week now, so I have to walk up and down 6 flights of crumbling concrete stairs to get to my unit, and I store really heavy stuff.
They have completely ghosted my emails and messages
Everyone that posts a legitimate, detailed complaint here gets responded with “we don’t have you listed here as a customer” …. Yeah right…
I’ve been in this building for 3 years, with the previous company it was actually great, but with Storage Post, they increased my rent by 42% in just one year, and the facility is rapidly approaching complete nightmare mode. I’m looking for a new unit somewhere else.

Do NOT store your belongings here. I received a voicemail from this facility admitting to a major "water intrusion" into my unit. When I went to check on it, my bed and multiple personal belongings were completely ruined due to a burst/leaking pipe.
The facility has completely ghosted me. I have left multiple messages trying to reach the District Manager to resolve this liability issue, but she refuses to call me back or take this matter seriously.
I have a voicemail saved as evidence, along with photos of the destruction. Since management is ignoring my calls, I am leaving this review to get the District Manager's immediate attention before I take this documentation straight to court.

Do not rent a unit here. We trusted this facility with our personal and irreplaceable items, only to have a burst pipe completely flood our unit. The facility left a voicemail explicitly admitting to the "water intrusion," but now that our furniture and bed are destroyed, management has gone completely dark.
The District Manager refuses to return our phone calls or take responsibility for their facility's maintenance failure. We have the audio recording of their admission and full photographic evidence of the damage. We demand that the District Manager contact us immediately to resolve this before we take this documentation straight to court.

There's leakage/puddle in the basement that has been there for weeks now. They said they're working on it but idk why its looks the same if theyre "working on it". At least soak it up or something, it looks gross.
Also sometimes when I go the elevator doesn't work which is a huge issue if your moving big stuff in or out. Luckily when it has been out I have been able to take the stairs instead because im never carrying more than a couple things. I also do want to note the elevator not working being inaccessible for people with disabilities. I originally had this rated as 2/5 but the elevator sometimes not working makes it 1/5.
I had issues installing my code and when my payment method lapsed I lost access which, fine, but then I paid it. I tried my code again and it didnt work. Tried calling the phone number on the door and video chatting with an agent which didnt work. If you are providing services from 6-10, there should at least be a phone number I can call to troubleshoot during those hours.
The next day I called customer service asked if my access code would work since my payment went through. They said yes. The next day I go to my locker and my code doesn't work. I had to virtual chat one of the agents and they told me to call a number which all took time and I was given a temporary access code. The lady on the phone was helpful and said she will let tomorrow's team know my code needs to be fixed. I tried to use one of bathrooms there and both of them were locked. It was only 2:35 on a weekday.
In terms of positives, it is indeed climate controlled, i did get one month free for the deal I signed up for. Customer service is good when its available. The bathrooms are nice when they aren't locked. There's both a front and back entrance.
TLDR; First things first, I would NOT recommend this place if you need reliable elevator service or are disabled and cannot use stairs. This place is NOT accessible for people with disabilities, wheel chair, or mobility aid users. Now for pro tips: if you have a good deal, go with it. It was the cheapest I found for the area. Try to go when there is a human so you can trouble shoot and if possible, check ahead of time if the elevator works so your move doesnt get delayed. And dont miss any payments otherwise you'll get locked out and they'll drag their feet on fixing it.
