    I ordered a recliner in May that was supposed to take six to eight weeks to receive because I wanted a different color than was available in the store. At the 7-and-a-half week point, I received an email that said production had started. I called the store to find out what that meant, because it seemed a little strange that I would be notified that production was starting at almost the end date of anticipated delivery. Personnel at the Bloomington store knew nothing about this delay. They checked into it only because I called, and they told me they were now anticipating a delivery date in August. Not even August 1, but maybe around the 10th. I indicated I was not at all pleased with such a long delay, especially since no one had at any point warned me or asked if this was okay with me. My salesperson basically said there was nothing he could do. No setting a fire under whoever dropped the ball. No explanation of what had happened or why there was no notice. No offer of anything whatsoever to try to improve the situation. Just... Throwing up their hands and offering weak apologies. I asked about canceling the order and getting a refund, given that it was going to take twice as long as promised, and the salesperson told me that he thought that would probably be fine but he had to confirm that with his manager. Or he could substitute a brown recliner that was available immediately, which I had been offered in May. I do not want the brown recliner. The brown recliner has now been offered to me at least ten times. If I wanted the brown recliner I would have had it two months ago. After another week had passed, I called again to see what if anything the manager had said about a refund, and I was informed that no refund is available and there is is a corporate policy that once production starts, you can't get a refund. Of course, the only way I knew that this item was hugely delayed was because they sent me an email when they started production seven weeks after I ordered it. The only way I would've been able to cancel before they started production was if I was psychic. No one at this La-Z-Boy store seems to have the power to do anything anything about anything or, honestly, to care that they dropped the ball. They have not suggested even one thing that they might do in the future to improve things for future customers. I am left with no choice but to wait however long it takes (I'm expecting October or November at this point) to squeeze a recliner I no longer want out of a company I have absolutely no desire to do business with.

    The gentleman I met with at the Bloomington, IL store was so down to earth and just amazing to work with. He was not pushy or anything like that. I felt very comfortable in making my purchase.
