After a frustrating day (for the second time in 4 years - our hot water heater leaked all over our basement), I was looking for help purchasing pans to catch the water (for next time) and a way to connect our two new hot water heater pans to our nearby drain because the floor is uneven and flows away from rather than towards the drain...creating a mess. And I know nothing about plumbling... An older gentleman named Ian was absolutely exceptional and went "above and beyond" the proverbial call of duty--helping me track down exactly what I needed. He took his time and was very thoughtful to make sure we had a good solution. I truly appreciate his time and kindness. It is employees like him that make people want to keep coming back to Lowe's. Anyway, thank you so much for his expertise, patience, and kindness.

We recently used Lowe’s for a full roof and gutter replacement through their contractor partner, RCB Roofing. Unfortunately, the experience was far below what we expected from a company associated with Lowe’s.
At the beginning of March, I requested a quote through Lowe’s for a roof and gutter replacement. A few days later, Roger from RCB Roofing contacted me for details, but after that I never heard back. After waiting a week, I called their office and was told Roger would contact me. Three more weeks passed with no communication. I finally had to go into my local Lowe’s Pro Services department in person to get someone involved before we could even move forward.
Once communication finally started, we received a quote and ultimately chose RCB Roofing over three competing estimates because we trusted Lowe’s and expected a higher level of service and accountability.
Shortly after signing the contract, we were informed that they could not provide gutters matching the trim color of our home and would not paint them. This meant we had to hire our own painter at an additional cost of roughly $1,500 on top of an already $27,000 roof and gutter project. For a gutter project costing nearly $7,000 alone, this was disappointing.
To their credit, the roof installation itself was completed in one day and the workmanship appears solid. I have no major complaints about the roof installation.
The gutter installation experience, however, was frustrating. The crew arrived around noon and worked until approximately 9 PM while my family, including three children under 5 years old, was home. They still did not finish and had to return the next day.
The biggest issue came after installation. The signed scope of work clearly states that “Leaf Blaster Pro micromesh gutter guards” were to be installed on all newly installed gutters, and the estimate packet even included multiple pages marketing the gutter guard product.
When I questioned why they were not installed, I was told by Roger at RCB Roofing that although gutter guards appeared in the scope of work, there was no quantity listed, so they were supposedly not included. John Daly from RCB Roofing later called me and acknowledged it was essentially an issue with their internal system and admitted they would lose approximately $500 if they honored the scope of work as written. I was then asked to cover the difference myself.
At that point, after already paying an additional $1,500 to have the gutters painted separately, I felt it was unreasonable to ask the customer to absorb the cost of their internal estimating mistake.
We specifically chose Lowe’s because we believed using a national company and their approved contractor network would provide better customer service, communication, and protection during the project. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. While Lowe’s did not physically perform the work, the actions of their contractor directly reflect on the Lowe’s brand.
Given our experience, I also informed our HOA board so they are aware when homeowners ask for recommendations for roofing and gutter contractors in the future. Our neighborhood has many homes built around the same time, and several homeowners are beginning to replace their roofs and gutters due to the original undersized gutter systems.
I would not recommend Lowe’s or RCB Roofing for roofing or gutter projects based on our experience.

As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
