  I’m giving it two stars only because it’s more of a product review than a review than it is of Leslie’s itself. I am not usually one to give negative reviews on companies because there can be any number of circumstances that cause someone to be unhappy and it is not always the person or companies fault that a product is a piece of crap. That being said this was recommended to me by Lesley‘s pools and I am very disappointed in their recommendation. After a lengthy discussion about wishing to purchase the type of pool cleaner we had and being told this was a better option for us, as it was a newer version of what we had had before, we decided to take their recommendation. I wish we had not. I honestly don’t know how this product is still on the market. We purchased the Proteus DX3 based on a recommendation from Leslie’s Pool Supplies, expecting a quality pool cleaner. Instead, it has been one of the most frustrating and expensive purchases we’ve ever made. Within the first year, it had to be sent back for repairs under warranty, however, we did have to pay out-of-pocket for some items that were claimed to not be covered under warranty and shipping. It came back, and the problem was never actually fixed. During the second year, we had to send it back two more times—these times completely at our own expense for shipping and repairs. Again, it still wasn’t fixed. Between the back and forth, we ended up wasting the entire summer, trying to have it fixed. Now we’re in year three, and I’ve given up. I’m not wasting another dollar shipping this thing back because I have zero confidence it will ever work correctly. As for its performance? It’s terrible. It barely moves around the pool, picks up almost nothing, and will literally drive right over dirt and debris without collecting it. Even fine dirt sitting on the flat bottom is left behind, and don’t even expect it to clean the walls—it won’t. For a robotic pool cleaner, it fails at the one job it’s supposed to do: clean the pool. Between the repeated repair attempts, shipping costs, downtime, and constant disappointment, this has been a complete waste of money. I would have been better off buying a manual vacuum and saving myself the aggravation which is ultimately what we had to do because there was so much downtime from having to send the pool cleaner off get it fixed get it back and try it again also even when using it it didn’t work well enough that we had to use a manual cleaner as well. I trusted the recommendation from Leslie’s, but I absolutely regret buying this cleaner. I would never purchase another Proteus product and would strongly advise anyone considering the DX3 to spend their money elsewhere. Zero stars or negative if that were an option or the pool cleaner itself as far as Lesley‘s pools I’m not happy with their recommendation on the product but again there could’ve been any number of reasons they recommended this one so I won’t fault them completely. I would just say maybe be a little more careful in what you’re recommending to people when they are asking to purchase something especially something as expensive as a pool cleaner.

  Went in for a water analysis. After a few minutes got a printout that detailed all the problems with my pool. Salespeople were friendly and knowledgeable. They hooked me up with the right product to get my pool looking good again. Thank You Leslie's !
