I’m really shocked to see all 5 star reviews for this facility. We stored our belongings here for about 4 weeks while we were moving. The building is new and the units seemed clean. The floor we were on didn’t seem to have a lot of occupied units either, so we weren’t really worried. The day we began moving out, we found German roaches all over our things. We saw them in every stage of life - egg sacks, nymphs, adults. They were in our shoes, in our pots and pans, on our (thankfully wrapped) furniture. The person in the front office was nice and explained that we could file an insurance claim, but that Extra Space wasn’t responsible. Upon further inspection of the floor we were on, we saw roaches and egg sacks around other units. The people in the neighboring unit were there at the same time, and left the carcasses of all sorts of bugs behind. We were told that the building is routinely sprayed, but I don’t see how that’s possible considering the amount of roaches we saw, and the various stages we saw as well. It was truly devastating to have to deal with such a serious problem unexpectedly while also dealing with a stressful move. I know storage units are generally risky, and sometimes there isn’t another option. However, if you can go ANYWHERE else, I would.
