Ignorant sales staff. They act as if you’re bothering them when you have a question. Finally left after the rudeness became overbearing. Went to rooms to go and they were more than happy to help me. Got much better quality furniture for a much lower price!

I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing furniture from the Brandon La-Z-Boy location. We purchased couches from this store and the fabric we received was nothing like what we expected based on the sample provided. Customers are asked to choose upholstery from a tiny fabric swatch that is only about the size of a washcloth, making it very difficult to accurately judge how the material will look across an entire sofa. The actual fabric on our couches looks distressed, worn, and honestly quite cheap for a brand that markets itself as a premium furniture company. To make matters worse, we received conflicting information from multiple sales representatives throughout the process. It often felt like no one was on the same page, and customer satisfaction seemed to take a back seat to making the sale. The most concerning issue has been the billing. After our original purchase, we were charged multiple additional times for costs that were never disclosed or agreed upon at the time of purchase. This wasn’t a one-time mistake—there have now been several separate additional charges, leaving us extremely frustrated and questioning the company’s business practices. When we attempted to address our concerns, we were reminded of the store’s strict no-return and no-refund policy, which leaves customers with very little recourse when problems arise. Overall, this has been a disappointing experience. Between the misleading fabric representation, contradictory communication, unexpected charges, and lack of customer-focused solutions, I would not recommend purchasing from this location.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but after seeing my family’s experience with La-Z-Boy, I feel other customers should be aware before making a major purchase. La-Z-Boy advertises premium quality and “Strongest Frame Construction,” but what we saw did not match those claims. The furniture appeared to be built with low-grade materials, and after only a short period, there were wood shavings and signs of wear that you would not expect from a product at this price point. For furniture costing several thousand dollars, the overall fit, finish, and construction were very disappointing. What was even more frustrating was the return process. Although management initially agreed to a return with a 20% restocking fee, the refund amount that was ultimately processed did not match what had been communicated. This created unnecessary confusion and left a very negative impression of the company’s customer service. My biggest concern is that many people purchase La-Z-Boy expecting a durable, long-lasting product based on the brand’s reputation and advertising. Based on what my family experienced, I would encourage potential buyers to carefully inspect the construction and fully understand the store’s return policies before making a purchase. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the brand, and I would not recommend it.

La-Z-Boy claims to build a quality, long-lasting, durable product with the "Strongest Frame Construction," but that could not be further from the truth. Our experience was absolutely horrific. Do not waste your time or money on this brand; they build an extremely poor and flimsy product. The entire "wood" structure of their furniture is made of particle board, which is not only the cheapest wood made but also breaks down very quickly. We had wood shavings under ALL pieces after just one week with very little to no use. Their furniture is extremely overpriced, and the craftsmanship, fit, and finish are a 3-4, at best on a scale of 1-10 compared to companies like Rooms To Go or Havertys Furniture. Just 24 hours after delivery, we contacted General Manager Jay Snow regarding our disappointment with the quality. After discussions, COO Nick Ciago approved a return with a 20% restocking fee. We felt this was unfair since La-Z-Boy was selling what we believed to be a poor product at a premium price, but we agreed. On 5/28/26, Jay Snow confirmed by email that our AMEX account would be credited $4,744.21. On 6/6/26, we received a text message confirming the same amount. Shortly thereafter, AMEX notified us that the actual credit issued was only $4,299.28—a difference of $1,581.42 from our original purchase amount of $5,881.20. We are sharing this experience with the public because we are deeply disappointed with both the product quality and how this matter was handled by General Manager Jay Snow and COO Nick Ciago. We are particularly concerned because a large portion of their customer base appears to be older consumers who may place significant trust in the company's representations. The fact that John and Bryan Grieger own and operate a total of eight La-Z-Boy locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, as well as locations in Lakeland and Bradenton, makes our experience even more concerning. Consumers deserve transparency, quality products, and consistent customer service across all locations. There is an old saying: "A fish stinks from the head down."

We purchased two couches and a recliner from La-Z-Boy in Brandon, Florida, because we were willing to pay premium prices for what we believed would be premium-quality furniture backed by exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, we received neither. Immediately after delivery, we noticed multiple quality issues, including bunched/stitched fabric, unusually large gaps between seat cushions, exposed particle board visible beneath extended recliner footrests, and furniture that felt loose and poorly constructed. Concerned by the quality, we contacted the store immediately and were directed to submit a service request online. We requested an exchange but were initially told that La-Z-Boy does not offer exchanges. Shortly afterward, we received an email stating the furniture appeared acceptable based on delivery photos. After escalating our concerns to the General Manager and repeatedly following up, we were eventually given the option to exchange the furniture for something of equal or greater value or return it subject to a 20% restocking fee. Because of La-Z-Boy's reputation, we chose to pursue an exchange rather than a return, hoping our experience was an isolated incident. However, we were informed that exposed wood beneath recliners is considered standard construction and that all La-Z-Boy furniture is built similarly. This significantly limited our confidence in selecting another reclining model. We ultimately selected a replacement couch and explored upgrading from fabric to leather. While we expected an increase in price, we received multiple conflicting quotes for the same item. In the end, the exchange would have required an additional $5,000–$6,000 on top of the nearly $6,000 we had already spent. Even more surprising, we were told our existing furniture would need to be removed immediately, leaving us without furniture for 6–8 weeks while waiting for the replacement order. Given the ongoing issues and lack of customer service, we decided to return the furniture instead. Despite receiving written confirmation that the return had been approved, we later learned additional corporate authorization was still required. After continued follow-up, the furniture was finally picked up. When the furniture was removed, several piles of wood shavings were left behind, further reinforcing our concerns about the quality of the materials and construction. For furniture sold at premium prices, the product appeared heavily reliant on particle board and metal framing rather than the craftsmanship we expected. The refund process proved equally frustrating. After being told a refund would be issued, I received three separate receipts showing different refund amounts, credits, and charges that did not align with previous communications or the return documentation provided. Most concerning was La-Z-Boy's exchange and return policy. In our experience, the policy creates significant obstacles for customers who discover quality issues after delivery and appears designed to protect the company rather than stand behind its products. Even after acknowledging our concerns, La-Z-Boy charged both a 20% restocking fee and delivery fees for furniture that remained in our home for only two weeks and was rarely, if ever, used. We chose La-Z-Boy because of its longstanding reputation for quality and service. Instead, we experienced poor product quality, inconsistent communication, confusing billing practices, and a return process that felt unnecessarily difficult. For anyone considering a major furniture purchase, I would HIGHLY recommend carefully exploring other retailers such as Rooms to Go or Haverty's before choosing La-Z-Boy. Based on our experience, the quality, value, customer service, and consumer-friendly policies simply did not justify the premium price.
