  When I decided to get our pool renovated I didn't choose the lowest bidder, because I didn't want problems. So I went with a company that was higher than most and still ended up with guess what - problems. The office people are pleasant but, that doesn't make up for the lack of workmanship in the field. Here is what you don't do; take an engineered fitting that is designed to fit into a pipe correctly and grind it down to make it fit. On the very first start up of my Polaris pool cleaner the "modified" fitting shot out from the side of my pool. Let me describe the included photos. #1 shows what was done to the fitting. #s 2 and 3 show what was done to the pool, #4 shows what the fitting should look like. #5 shows how the new "unmodified" fitting engages the correct size of pipe, #6 shows the fitting starting to fit into the pool pipe. The only magic that happened is that I cleaned the pipe out a bit. There will be some buildup inside on any pipe, if 10 minutes of work were done the fitting would of worked without the totally unnecessary use of a grinder. Other fitting were ground down as well, they are for the returns so they don't have the extra pressure of the Polaris system. I'm feeling that they would of failed as well if they had more than 10 to 15 pounds on them. I have spoken to other industry professionals about how this should be repaired, what I've heard is that the area needs to be cut open and the fitting set into place then hydraulic cement around that as with the new installation and a patch of the wet edge material. From what I was told by White Sands is that they intended to drain down the pool and take a screwdriver to chip out the hydraulic cement and try to push the new fitting into place; they have been asked numerous times to put the repair process into writing. I have had a pool inspector do an evaluation and they noted the UN-workman like actions and provided a course to correct, they have not even acknowledged the provided report.This is new pool that should not need a repair or patch; that is not what I paid for. If they don't care enough to be professional on the install how can they be trusted to do a professional repair on an issue they created. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Attorneys are looking into this as well. I'm posting this to help protect anyone else from making the same mistake I did. For you own sake, find another pool contractor.

  I was quoted 4 different pool contracts and never felt 100% confident and comfortable with whom I was talking with for our Pool Renovation. A small pool builder I know recommended I call White Sands as they are a family owned business and basically they are the subcontracts for the contractors! Cut out the Middle Man and save money. Gary the sales person came out to the house, measured and even fixed a small leak around my skimmer without me even asking! He then was very patient with us as we struggled to pick out the right pool tile and surface for our renovation. In the end, we got an upgraded Wet Edge finish and saved money compared to our other quotes. Everyone in the sales office was fantastic to work with and every individual that came to work on the renovation was one time, polite and hard working. Patience was given as there are always unforseen challenges whenever you are remodeling and it was the middle of June when we started. I'm very happy with White Sands and I would highly recommend their services. We are very happy with the results and attention to details!

  Company refinished our HOA pool in December 2022. The pool was regularly maintained by a licensed pool company and all work was performed by a licensed pool company. A significant portion of the pool finish detached from the pool walls. I am of the opinion that this company performs shoddy work and should not be hired to refinish a pool.
