- ASAmanda SimmonsMay 6, 20261.0Went into Hobby Lobby today, and I must say I love the overall selection and atmosphere of the store, but the customer service at this location really needs improvement. I came in looking for an item for my aunt for Mother’s Day. Since Hobby Lobby is always running different sales and percentages off throughout the store, I politely asked two associates near the front if there were any additional discounts on the item. Both responded very rudely with, “The price is what it says on the tag,” without even making eye contact. It wasn’t necessarily what was said, but how it was said. As a customer, if I’m unfamiliar with the weekly sales, I’m going to ask. That’s what sales associates are there for. The environment just felt very cold and unwelcoming. No greeting, no “have a great day,” no real customer interaction at all. Again, I love Hobby Lobby as a store, but this particular location could definitely do better when it comes to customer service and the staff they hire.

The cashier was chatty and polite to the person they checked out ahead of me and told them to have a great day. They did not address me at all except to tell me my total until I was leaving. At that point they said , "Have a day." Not a bad day, good day, pleasant day..... "Have a day" after them being chatty and jovial to the person ahead of me was like a slap in the face. I had been in there hiding little affirmations for people to find and was pleasant and kind to everyone I encountered. I am not sure what it was about me that flipped her rude switch but I will not be back for a while.
