Very disappointing and unprofessional experience with Extra Space Storage.
I came here to pick up a storage unit that I won, and I specifically explained to the employee that my time was limited and that I needed to get access to the unit. His response was basically that he was going on lunch and there was nothing he could do. He then left, and the office was locked.
The sign on the door says “BE BACK SOON” and shows a return time of 2:45 PM. It is now 2:59 PM, and there is still nobody here.
What makes this even more frustrating is that the posted business hours show the office as OPEN during this time, with no lunch closure indicated. I came during advertised business hours expecting to be able to handle a time-sensitive pickup.
I understand that employees need lunch breaks, but simply telling a customer “I can’t do anything, I’m going to lunch” and leaving when the customer has already explained that the matter is time-sensitive is unacceptable customer service.
If the office closes for lunch, that needs to be clearly reflected in the posted business hours. Customers should not have to waste their time waiting outside a locked office during advertised operating hours.
