  Rarely do I ever leave a negative review. I would rather stay silent. However, the woman who works at this store is so unhelpful and unprofessional. I have visited the store more than a dozen times looking for particular pieces, and never once has she greeted me or asked if she could be helpful (unlike the gentleman who works there). In fact, today she walked right by me eating a sandwich and never said a word to me. I did ask her once to put something on hold and was told “no”. Today when I noticed a table “on hold” with an expired date and inquired about seeing it without the leaf, I was promptly told “no it’s on hold” when I pointed out the hold had expired she said it was specially held for a few more days. When I asked why she told me “no” when I asked to place a sofa on hold many weeks before, she denied ever saying that to me. All I can say is that I will no longer be looking at Surroundings for any pieces because that employee is so unpleasant. There are plenty other consignment shops with professional and kind people working there.

  I had a very frustrating experience with Surrounding Consignment and I would NOT recommend them based on how they handle customers and communication. I return an item that I was told I had a credit at no point was it clearly explained that this credit could only be used in store like most customers, I reasonably understood credit to me. I could either use it towards a purchase or request a refund when I explained that I no longer live in the area and ask if they could send me a check instead I was told no only after the Fact, I also brought an item to consign and one of their customers broke the item and he said that that is too bad that that happened. I can’t even get a replacement for the glass that the customer broke. He takes no responsibility. The lack of transparency is unacceptable. If there are strict policies, they should be clearly communicate communicated upfront, not revealed only when it’s convenient for the customer. The entire interaction felt misleading and poorly handled beyond that the communication was unprofessional and dismissive a business should prioritize clarity, fairness, and customer service none in which I experienced here I will not be returning, and I would cause others to be very careful when dealing with the store.

  The prices are absolutely ridiculous. You need to apply for a loan to buy anything.
